Robie was so mentally drained she thought she was hallucinating a boat. She refused to believe it was real. She did anything she could to refuse to believe it was real, but it was real. She was finally safe again but nobody can fathom that she survived the plane crash.

Turns out the whole time she thought Max was with her she had been hallucinating. Max was never there. When we helped her to the raft after getting the water out, he was dead the whole time. She had needed him to be there, or wanted him to be there so she imagined all of it to bring her comfort.

As she witnessed the shark eat the seal she was disgusted. We have never gotten that much of a reaction out of her yet. She didn't care about dead birds or dead fish. But seeing that endangered seal get chomped in 2 bites enlightened a large grudge against sharks for her.

She has a lot of survival skills that help her through this survival. Since her parents work in marine biology that also helps. I think she is a very smart girl who puts a lot of effort in marine life. We also found out our main characters name is Robie,and the guy that is in the raft with her is Max.

Our main character is a huge over thinker. We found out she has a big fear of the ocean and not knowing what's below her swimming. Obviously that's not good knowing she is stranding in the middle of the sea with no food or water. I have a feeling they wont get rescued for a while.

A major conflict happened in these pages. The plane is crashing and its storming harshly outside. She is in so much shock she wont put on her life vest. She doesn't know how she will get back home but will do anything in her power to survive.

Although I just started reading The Raft I have some observations about our main character. We don't know her name yet but she has blonde cornrows, is white, and doesn't have a lot of friends. She is also very paranoid. When the scary man from the streets grabbed her hair, she was scared the entire night that he was gonna come to her apartment and find her. Even if she heard the smallest bang she was scared.
