May have to hit pause on this. When the MMC says "we still on this?" I felt that. The FMCs internal conflict should he switching and moving. Not stating stagnant after that powerful scene. Not reverting after the flashback. That keeps tge story feeling fresh

I want to 👏🏾 the author. Smartly made the FMC older than 18. With her history and background being a college fresh at 22 makes a lot of sense. It also adds dimension to her character

1st time I read this book this line irritated me. My note said "racist AF". I ended up DNF at 20%. Trying to give it another whirl and yeah....the line still pisses me off. Bookthreads
