Ummmm...*smacks lips* we've had more sex scenes with the non-MMC than the MMC. And spent majority of the book not even in the same scene.

Nice MC. But keeping the grown FMC away from the equally grown MMC who committed a crime to protect her is an odd plot conflict.

I already had at least 3 IKYFL moments and we are only 11% in. The MMC having a girlfriend was about to cause me to ✌🏾 but damn if I didn't get sucked back in.

So much of this book is so bizarre.

If we are being honest this sets the tone for his entire book. We already know that Priest will provide people with enough rope to hang themselves but also atone. He feels it is a mercy and apart of his order and vengeance he is serving God. I don't know why people feel that he took to long to handle business.

Tre is crazy and I miss seeing his crazy shenanigans like dice people up for thinking the worst of his wife. The wife he's still out her pretending he doesn't love because he's upset she broke his heart. Tre is a crazy crazy boy

I like the concept of the book but not enjoying the ride.

I don't care for Zusef's sub-plot storyline. I don't care about Brandi or Zoo to see their separate pov. I still detest Zay lying. I'm not invested in seeing the sex it out either. I was disappointed that Prime immediately said "oh ok. I mean I was a little mad but here's my dick". I wish Prime still moved as a protector but paused intimacy until trust rebuilt. 50-leven things going on and the MCs I care least about

Going into this skeptically I'm glad I read up to 17% but it's also a reminder as to why I wasn't gagged or excited by the end of Book 1 to move forward.

It's odd I should be in love with yet....

Tried hanging in there but this was not it. The MMC having a stutter and speech difficulties alongside the FMC being a Midwife is why I gave it a shot as long as I did. But too many hurdles. Background for the MMC didnt feel solid and the FMC being 26 and a Midwife for 10 years and working with high level clients was a big nopester. Midwifery takes years of learning/practice. Dialogue wasn't it either.

I know authors say sometimes things aren't that deep but the way Shvonne wrote Leland was pitch perfect
