I've read all your books! I love them all! I finished the final Gobbelino book and all the mini books that are available at the end of your books. What's next? A new Beaufort Scales book? I've read all the Beaufort Scales books available now. I've read Oddly Enough and What Happened in London. I'd love to read another DI Adams book.

Will there be a 9th Beaufort Scales?? I love these books so much!!
Kim M. Watt Hi Chummy - thanks for getting in touch, and this is SO lovely to hear! I'm so glad you've been enjoying them. As it happens, Book 9, 'Something in the Waters' came out just before Christmas, so it's ready and waiting for you. I hope that helps!

Will you be adding all of your short stories for the different series to Goodreads? I use GR to track, and it would make life a teeny bit easier :)

Thanks for the question! I hadn't thought to, as they're just little accompaniments to the books and not available to buy or download otherwise. But I shall add it to the list of things to look into!

Will books 5 and 6 in the Beaufort Scales Mystery Series be availible again on Kobo. And will the Gobbelino London, PI Series be removed from Kobo in the future?
Kim M. Watt Hi Deeze! Yes on the Beaufort books - they'll be back up on Kobo from the 17th of September, which is as soon as I can remove them from Kindle Unlimited. All books (including Gobbelino London) will remain available at all retailers from then on. Sorry they vanished on you for a bit there!

? I just finished the first one and I love it! I have eclectic tastes, so I like this as well as the Beaufort books. You are amazing and so creative with your ideas!

Oh my goodness. My library now has the Gobbelino books available as digital ebooks! All 4 of them. So I'm reading them next. Okay I have to put a question. Or they won't let me post. I'll get back to the Toot Hansell books after I read these. I assume I will like the Gobbelino books as well? Haha. You don't have to answer the question. I hope this works?
Kim M. Watt It worked! :D And that's awesome on your library having the Gobbelino books - I'm always weirdly delighted by the idea of my books being available in a library. It feels a little like being able to give a tiny something back for all the hours libraries were havens when I was a wee small thing. I hope you do enjoy the Gobbelino books! They're a bit different in tone to the Beaufort books, so they may or may not be to your taste - but I'm hoping they are. happy reading!

Not a question, but I'm now reading the Beaufort Scales books again starting from "The Tales of Beaufort Scales." I'm American and I need a refresher course; besides I know reading all the books again will be very pleasant. And maybe by the time I read them all again, maybe I'll be able to get book 7. Thank you for writing such interesting books. And I love the dragons! Is book 7 available now?

Book seven is planned for later this year - I have a new book in the Gobbelino series coming out first, then it's on to Beaufort.

Kim M. Watt Hi Cindy - I'm SO happy to hear you like the books! That makes for a very happy author <3 And, as it happens, I'm juuuust about to send the new Gobbelino adventure off to my wonderful editor, so it'll be out in a couple of months! I'm also planning another for the autumn, and expect to have about two more the following year to complete the series.

Just wanted to say I've really enjoyed the Gobbelin London books. When is the next one planned? I'm currently reading Yule be Sorry as needed some light reading and do enjoy the descriptions of the different houses and the food. Oh, and kudos in particular for calling a book Game of Scones. Having just finished Yule be Sorry wanted to ask - when you say marzipan are you talking about that nasty yellow stuff from the shops? Or home-made almond paste with a hint of lemon juice? I loathe the former and adore the latter - and we put it on the cake in a relatively thin layer, about 0.5cm rather than 1cm.
Kim M. Watt Sadly, both! The shop-bought stuff is awful, but a friend also made me homemade marzipan at one point. I was not a convert, although admittedly it was better. I'm still very happy to stick to my marzipan-less cake :)

? On the subject of Christmas food - mince meat (as opposed to minced meat) use to have meat in it. https://blog.lboro.ac.uk/news/christmas/christmas-mince-pye-made-the-17th-century-way-with-meat/. Years back when we were re-enacting we made one from Hannah Wolley's cook book. It was alright - less sweet and a bit chewy. Sweet plus sweet and sour meat dishes used to be common in English cookery.

I had read that! Still rather confusing when I first came across mincemeat and had only ever known it as minced meat ;) Your re-enacting sounds amazing - how cool to recreate those old recipes!

Why are your books showing up as four separate distinct works, instead of just the two?

Very excited about the upcoming publication! What has been the most difficult part of the whole process?
Kim M. Watt Aw, yay! I'm excited too! And, to be honest, now that it's almost here I'm having some sort of selective amnesia where I think it was all SO easy and SO fun, and am forgetting the sitting on the floor crying into a packet of chocolate chip cookies bits. Not that there were a lot of those. Well, there were a lot of cookies. Not so many tears.

I think the hardest part for me was so many learning curves all at once. Book covers. Back cover copy. Formatting for print. Formatting for ebooks. Marketing stuff (yes, I learned some stuff about it. No, I haven't put much of it into practise, because reasons). The writing and rewriting was fun, and I'm one of those strange people who like editing, so all that side of things was good. It was just all the rest...
