Dear Kade,
First, let me say thank you for this compliment. I am very flattered that you, or anyone, would mistake my work for that of J.K. Rowling. However, I am not her. She is an influence of mine, and I mention her in my novel as a tribute to her genius. Again thank you for this compliment. This really made me feel amazing.
(Added 4-7-23) Alright Mr. Kade, I answered your question 4 days ago. Since then, you have emailed me the same question a dozen more times. And you tried to DM me on Facebook. If this continues I will block you from my social media accounts. My answer remains the same, and you can take it to the bank, ''I AM NOT J.K. ROWLING!!!''
Sincerely,
Keith Yagerman

I create a layout of the entire book before I start. Then I handwrite the entire rough draft (about 4 months work). Then I type the final draft, and make changes as needed (2 months work). With this formula, I find a good understanding of the entire story from the very start and I stick to my layout. Doing things this way prevents a lot of writers block. And I get a better product for my readers.

Getting positive feedback from readers. That lets me know they enjoyed the story I shared. There's nothing more rewarding!

Write something you would enjoy reading! Chances are, if you like it, so will others. Don't focus on being original more than being unique. There is a difference. Take my novel for example. Its the same recipe J.K. Rowling used as well as George Lucus. 2 boys and a girl. Same recipe all very uniquely different cakes. The same is TRUE with the powers my characters have and even my villains. Same recipe, different cake. Take a recipe you like and bake your own cake

I am currently working on the final draft of ''Braxton Rogers and the Secret in the Shadows'' (book 3 of the series). Book 2 ''Braxton Rogers and the Lost Children of Varus'' should be out later this year.

J.K. Rowling's ''Harry Potter'' series inspired me to start my own series. As a child, I didn't read very well. I had a learning disability all throughout school and spent a lot of time in LD classes. The Harry Potter series yar the first real novels I stayed with. Somewhere along the way I started reading ''Star Wars'' novels. Then ''Enders Game'' and from there I grew as a reader. I soon discovered Harper Lee's ''To Kill a Mocking Bird' and James Barrie's 'Peter Pan'' (The Original).

The idea for ''Braxton Rogers and the Brave New Beyond' came from several places. I wanted to tell a fun and exciting story in a unique setting. I love science fiction and I'm also a pretty big Harry Potter fan. In this novel those two things are well established. Simply put, the idea of kids with unique abilities is not original. What makes this story so unique are the characters themselves and how they interact with each other. At its core, this story isn't about Braxton's abilities, but about him stepping up as a son, a friend, and a big brother.
