Goodreads asked Keith Yagerman:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Keith Yagerman I create a layout of the entire book before I start. Then I handwrite the entire rough draft (about 4 months work). Then I type the final draft, and make changes as needed (2 months work). With this formula, I find a good understanding of the entire story from the very start and I stick to my layout. Doing things this way prevents a lot of writers block. And I get a better product for my readers.
