There has been family rumours for years that my grandfather had a second secret family....plenty to dig into there via the sins of the past!

I have a very vague outline Robert, and hopefully next book will be out in the next 12 months. Thanks for reading The Hiding Game.

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for listening to the first two books in the series on audio. There are no immediate plans for Last Kiss and The Game Changer to be uploaded as audio books, but I'll keep you posted.
Warmest wishes,
Louise

Gosh, that is a hard question to answer. I guess, despite being a crime writer where bad things often happen, at heart, I'm a romantic. For me, it is Noah and Allie from The Notebook. The movie was a big hit for Warner Brothers, but the book, written by Nicolas Sparks, is based on a true story. I do believe in love for life. The joy, love and tenderness, from Noah, in his undying love for Allie, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease in later life, is extremely touching. My mother had this terrible disease, and I loved her dearly, even on the days that she didn't remember who I was. I hope this answers your question. Louise

Hi Karmel - and thank you for you question. My characters usually start with a voice, and by that I mean their narrative voice on the page. I have used bio's, in particular emotional bio's to add more layers, but generally, their voice will grow as the novel progresses, and as I dig deeper into their choices and the life they led before the story begins. I am often surprised by the direction some of my characters take, and sometimes, I have been very lucky, and the voice appears almost complete from day one. I think every good writer will know when a character is working well, as do readers, and once you have that, then their relationships with others in the fictional world, will be as natural as the development of relationships in the real world. I hope this answers your question. Best and warmest wishes, Louise

Hi Deborah - I usually write from early morning, at about 6 am. I have a cuppa and maybe a snack bar or cereal, then settle into it. I read anything I've written the day before first, doing a slight re-edit, which gets me back into the fictional world before I move forward. I hope this answers your question. Best Louise

The inspiration had two strands. A true life story of a fifteen-year-old Irish girl who perished at the birth of her son, a story which has stayed with me ever since, and a short story by the same name of the novel 'LAST KISS'. It had a female killer who became obsessed with a new man in her life, with tragic results. Her voice appeared again in another short story and then I knew she had a longer story to tell.

Inspiration is everywhere. An overheard conversation, a newspaper article, a TV programme, everyday life. Often I get a 'what if' question coming into my mind, and then more questions follows. If an idea stays and grows, it's usually a good sign!

Right now I'm doing some short character segments for novel 4. I've more research to do before I plunge myself completely into the fictional world of novel 4 this coming October.

Never give up. Do it because you love it and you don't have a choice but to write! Writing is like a muscle, the more you exercise it, the better it will be. Also, being able to create something, to add value in some way, is an amazing thing!

Being able to submerge yourself completely into a fictional world. The thing is, writing is a little bit like reading a story. Whilst you're in the middle of it, that fictional world is your world. I'm about to start my fourth novel and the characters are having conversations in my head, times, places, various happenings are waiting to escape to the page - that is by far the best and most exciting thing about being a writer!

Thankfully, I haven't suffered writer's block, although there have been times when I have been unsure about starting into a day's writing. Now, I accept that there are good and bad days, but pushing through on the bad days will bring the good days a little nearer.
