(Currently #12 in Historical thrillers) I have heard of Operation Highjump, but I don't recall what it's about. I'll have to review it. While, I don't have any plans to make it a series, I have two more books in process that are linked via characters. My 5th book takes place in nearby Jerome, in 1926, and is essentially a 'prequel' to HOAF, with Cates as MC. It has gangsters, and flashbacks to the Mexican revolution in 1914, and concerns how Cates met Rosa, learned to fly, and of course, met Pancho Villa. Half gangster story, half Western. It's about 50% done, and should be by spring, I hope.
I also just started another WWII thriller set in North Africa in 1942, and has the main characters from both of these books, HOAF and EC, working together. I also have two literary works, one of which I recently finished, that I'm trying to get to my agent. Still some work to do on both.(less)

First free promo results

Well folks, I just completed my first free promotion on Amazon. House of Apache Fires was free on Kindle for 3 days, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Overall I had 2086 downloads, and it was #1 in two free categories for all 3 days! The categories were Alternative Fiction and Military Thrillers, and it's really cool to see your book with a #1 next to it, even if it's in a free category.

The Paradoxical Commandments

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.”
