Taft's public trip to Asia to secretly carve up the continent.

Freshly added to my pile is "Life of Pi", which I bought when I and a visiting Canadian friend of our mutual acquaintance were at Joseph-Beth in Rookwood. I turned her on the "Arsonist's Guide to Writer's Homes..." and I felt guilty about not buying anything.

I'm also hoping to be a beta reader for my writer friend Wendy Vogel's next Horizon Alpha series. Dinosaurs in space! YA is not my genre, but I learn a lot from Wendy.

Depending on things I may get some more reading done. I can't devote too much time to reading, because I've got to get some writing done too. It's all about balance.(less)

With that said I think the best thing about it is the creative process itself. To me writing is about taking "What I did on my summer vacation" and wrapping it in context and meaning and stucture. Or at least trying to do that. The result is greater than the sum of its parts. Hopefully.(less)
