I spent most of my life gathering experience for my stories. It's hard to believe but from a young age I thought writing would be the ultimate art form. The various jobs that I've worked at are common; the number of different jobs I've worked at is uncommon.

Wall Street brokerage house clerk. Manhattan taxi driver. Wooden boat builder in Maine. Winter scallop diver in Maine. Fishing boat captain in the herring fishery from Massachusetts to Maine.
I founded Maine's first grape vineyard and winery:

As a visual artist I worked in oils, watercolors and flame-cut steel sculpture. Stephen King owns two of my pieces.
