Sherrie Miranda is an author who writes in order to create more peace and understanding in the world. She is a teacher who has taught students from many countries of the world. She is also a life and writing coach and hopes to soon find a way to help seniors and troubled teens write their life stories.
She loves to travel and first traveled to other countries before finally deciding to see some of the U.S., places that foreigners she met had been to, but that she hadn't.
She is happily married to a retired teacher who identifies himself first, as a musician. They hope to someday travel together to places where she reads her novel(s) and speaks to people about writing and life while Angelo plays his piano and entertains the audience.

It was (and likely, still is) the most photographed war in history.
I also did short (5 min.) meditations on the characters, then I wrote in their voice. Fortunately I eventually figured out how to keep their voices in the novel. You will see what I mean when you read it!
Sometimes I listened to Latin American protest music which inspired me to give a more cultural and creative slant to the writing.(less)

Of course, the final outcome was much different than the original ideas I had. I protested the U.S. funded war in El Salvador and met many Salvadorans, including one that I married. (We are divorced, but I have remained close to the rest of his family.) In fact, my ex-in-laws and all their friends are very proud that they inspired me to write a story about their country. (less)

Sherrie Miranda I have two questions. How can I remove the second novel, which is actually the first novel with the subtitle added?
Also, how do I add other favorite authors, authors that I have actually read? After the 3rd author in the group, I have not read the rest. I don't mind giving them some attention, but I would like my truly most favorite authors to show up before their names.
Am also looking for reviews for "Secrets & Lies in El Salvador." Contact me through my e-mail.
Peace,
Sherrie

Sherrie Miranda Thanks to everyone who has helped me! It is amazing how much support and assistance a writer needs to get to publication. In the old days, that was pretty much the end of it, but today, we continue to need advice and help from many people, especially those who are more adept at computer & internet operations.
And, most of all, thank you to my readers, especially the ones who write reviews. All I ask for is a 2-3 sentence review, but just received and amazing 5* review from fellow author, Chloe Thurlow. I will try to get the Amazon reviews posted here, but just in case, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Lies-El...

Sherrie Miranda In "Secrets & Lies in El Salvador," Shelly goes to war-torn El Salvador to forget about her own pain and her mother's deception. She learns to love in the face of loss and to forgive others as she realizes that we all lie and we all have our secrets.

message 26: by Sherrie

Sherrie Miranda Last night, I finally finished revisions, rewrites, edits and adding to the storyline of "Secrets & Lies In El Salvador." BUT when I went to put it on my flash drive, it suddenly disappeared! The most recent version I can find is from Dec. 5, 2013. I have been working very hard on it since then, including correcting typos and adding new story lines. It didn't occur to me before then that all the stories told to my protagonist should have some kind of a pay-off.
I have gone back to my laptop 3 times to see if I somehow missed it. I have always believed that "Everything happens for a reason," but I can find no reason for losing a story that has been a part of my life for 25 years!
Sadly,
Sherrie

Sherrie Miranda Please join me here!
I still don't get how this works. If I try to add a friend, I can't. But whenever I visit, I have 10 or 12 new friends. It is easier this way so I will not question why! ;-) <3

Sherrie Miranda Hmm, I have to say that a lot of people here are reading what I consider to be trash. I mean if you have to put scantily clad people on the cover, it tells me that you are appealing to people's basest instincts.
I am not a prude. Sex in a story can push the plot forward when used seldom. But a book that is just about people having sex. Sorry, maybe I am an elitist, but it isn't for me.
I AM glad that people are reading though, trash or not. In fact, I remember my Eng. teacher telling us that Shakespeare's plays were filled with sex and violence. He was right, but that was just A PART of the story, not ALL of it.

message 10: by Sherrie
