Fervor of faith is not the problem, bigotry of faith is the problem. Or to put it simply. Religion is not the problem, fundamentalism is the real problem. But we must be aware of what a fundamentalist is. A fundamentalist is not necessarily a person who takes the scripture literally, rather, a fundamentalist is a person who deems their own religion as the only true religion, and all others as heresy. Some fundamentalists do interpret the scripture metaphorically, and still manage to remain a bigot.
After all, you see outside, what is inside. So the point is, if you want to see integration in the world, first you gotta irrigate your heart, not your colon, of all division. Until you understand undivision, you won’t understand divinity. No sabes unidad, no sabes divinidad.
Even if you have never heard of Jesus, even if you have never heard of Buddha, even if you have never heard of Moses and Mohammed, even if you have never heard of Nanak and Naskar, you can still be divine. But if you never treat another person with kindness and dignity, you can never be divine.
It’s your behavior that makes you religious, not your belief. Besides, even in this day and age, if your belief still keeps raising walls, instead of bringing them down, it’s time you seek medical help. Because you see, bigotry is not a legal problem, it is a medical problem, just like alcoholism is a medical problem. America, A Dysfunctional Democracy | Visvavictor
Sociologically speaking, American democracy is the perfect specimen of a dysfunctional democracy. When a supremacist president incites racist hate and terrorist violence, out of bigotry and boneheadedness, his stoneage supporters consider it a matter of pride, but when an egalitarian president so much as mispronounces a few words due to his medical stammer, he is deemed incompetent by those people. Which only goes to show, no matter how much a nation tries to right the wrongs of its inhuman origin, there will always be some people who’d consider those inhumanities as their proud heritage, and would go to any length to maintain those customs and beliefs as such. And this is not an American phenomenon, it’s a worldwide phenomenon – and everywhere it manifests under the same banner of tradition, heritage and nationalism.
That is why I say to you – until we oust every last trace of nationalism from every corner of this world, we shall never in a million years have a genuinely integrated and upward-moving society. Either nationalism or humanity, you cannot have both – either borders or peace, you cannot have both – either guns or children, you cannot have both – either heritage or history, you cannot have both.
If history comes as a blow to your heritage, then by all means, live in your bubble – but do so as a prehistoric ape disconnected from the civilizing world. You cannot call yourself a civilized human and at the same time refuse to acknowledge human suffering. Your uncivilization may be your prerogative, but before you turn that uncivilization into the norm, you shall find a hundred MLKs, Baldwins, Mayas and Naskars standing as obstacle to your insanity.

In one of my early works I once wrote, “America is a great country, built by great people”. And it took me some time to look through the fallacy of this statement. I could still justify it by saying, it depends on the context – which would be technically true. But my dignity, my conscience, my morality – everything that is civilized in me, has been eating me alive for some time now over this one statement. Because if we throw away all technicality and look from a simple, everyday human perspective – nothing about the the birth of America is great – America is a terrorist nation, built by terrorists who invaded other people’s land, stripped them of their homes, and built a spin-off of the ruthless British empire over their blood and bones. You think America’s homeless problem is something new! It’s not – America has been making people homeless ever since the pilgrims set foot in Plymouth Rock. The pilgrims were not pioneers, they were terrorists.
99 percent of the world’s warzones are the legacy of white, western imperialism. Until you get your head around this simple fact, your views, your opinion, your advocacy, all are worthless to the peace struggles of these “westsploited” nations.

That’s why China is such an enemy in the westwashed narrative of the world – because when one nation has somewhat maintained an autocratic control over the planet since the 1800s (under the banner of “Manifest Destiny”), it would never want that control be undermined by another budding power – particularly when that power is far superior in infrastructure. Sure, the state of China tries to influence every move of its people, that’s the first unwritten rule in the handbook of “democracy” – but Uncle Sam has been manipulating the moves of every single state for over two hundred years. Now tell me, which state should you be more cautious of?
No country is free from human rights violation, but America’s share in global transgressions is right at the very top. America is the top exporter of humanitarian crisis in the world, and as such, US is the least qualified nation to be the moral guardian on anything.
