Combine without Condescension (The Sonnet) | Bulldozer on Duty

When all combine without condescension,
We shall witness God’s face.
Then we shall realize beyond all doubt,
God has never been a person but a state.
A state of mind where division disappears,
That is what godliness means.
A state of sight where separation withers,
That is what holiness means.
This state is beyond beliefs and doctrines,
It is the sacred valley of life beyond life.
There is no life so long as we are divided,
Life united is life brought to life.
There is no God, only heart nonsectarian.
In that heart, You, I, the Father, the Son, all are one.

If Hate is Holiness (The Sonnet) | Kafir Biraz, Peygamber Biraz

Civilization is a civilian in action,
Standing unbent against all charm.
This is called civilized activism,
The will to stand up without harm.
If vandalism were activism,
Insurrection was patriotism.
If Jan 6 is deemed patriotism,
9/11 was divine intervention.
If 9/11 is deemed a divine act,
Hate is but an act of holiness.
If hate is ever deemed holiness,
That is the end of all common sense.
To witness civilization you gotta be civilized.
Even God acting on hate is a being uncivilized.

Thus Speaks God (The Sonnet) | Himalayan Sonneteer

Ik onkar, satnaam,
Porque, yo soy insan.
Aham bismillahsmi,
Çünkü, benim adım vicdan.
Sarva dharman parityajya,
Giving up all national grave,
Nos haremos vessels of verdad,
Rise we shall as sapiens brave.
Divinidad está en cada cultura,
But no culture is pure divinity.
Human divided is human undivine,
Hatelessness is civilized divinity.
Thus speaks God in tongue beyond tongues.
One vessel isn’t enough to contain my neurons.

One Spirit Many Vessels (Sonnet 1021) | The Centurion Sermon

Christ was not a christian,
Vyasa was not a hindu.
Mohammed was not a muslim,
Abraham was not a jew.
Buddha was not a buddhist,
Confucius was not confucian.
Zoroaster was not zoroastrian,
Naskar is not naskarean.
Nanak was not a sikh,
Mahavir was not a jain.
All that we ever wanted is,
To remind the humans to be human.
Move past the person, and delve into spirit.
There you shall discover, divisions do not exist.

Miracle is Everywhere (The Sonnet) | Sin Dios Sí Hay Divinidad

Poetry that lifts a heart is miracle,
Science that lifts a society is miracle.
Philosophy that aids curiosity is miracle,
Art that aids love and laughter is miracle.
Technology that solves a problem is miracle,
Math that aids humanity’s growth is miracle.
Theology that makes a mind humble is miracle,
Cinema that invigorates a soul is miracle.
Janitor who cleans the garbage is a miracle,
Teacher who lights up a student is a miracle.
Doctor who smiles at a patient is a miracle,
Parents who sacrifice their joy are a miracle.
Our natural world is teeming with acts of miracle,
Yet we keep obsessing over the supernatural!

I am the valley, you are my gate | Abhijit Naskar | Visvavictor: Kanima Akiyor Kainat

I am but a drunken treasure,
with neither beginning nor end.
Don’t fall prey to gatekeepers –
I am the valley, you are my gate.

In a world that rewards
second-hand existence,
Stand alone and original,
as a first-hand sapiens.

Monsoon comes every time,
defying all evident drought.
Whole world will lose its sight,
if one bold heart forgets to sprout.

“When heart is frozen, all prayer is amiss.” Abhijit Naskar | Iman Insaniyat, Mazhab Muhabbat: Pani, Agua, Water, It’s All One

Forgetting head, heritage ‘n sanity,
I have placed you heartmidst.
I know not much prayer nor poetry;
When heart is frozen, all prayer is amiss.

We don’t need to believe in a grand design to be good people, but we do need to be good people to create a grand design. It’s neither about atheism, nor about the so-called religiousness – rather it’s about plain, ordinary humanness.

When Calls The Divine (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | The Divine Refugee

Catholics say, anglicans ain’t real christians.
Jews say, christians ain’t the chosen people.
Hindus say, even a muslim’s shadow ruins faith.
Muslims say, every non-muslim is an infidel.

Everybody thinks they’re the chosen ones,
and everybody else is living in sin.
Only the brand of the bottle changes,
not the prejudice and bigotry within.

None of us are the chosen people,
We are all just people – period.
We choose what we become or not,
We are the weavers of our world.

I have a strange affinity to divinity,
but not to any kiosk selling capsules.
I’m drawn to the force beyond the fables,
nowhere but in human living holiness brews.

Firefly Sonnet | Abhijit Naskar | Brit Actually: Nursery Rhymes of Reparations

Firefly, oh firefly,
why do you gleam so!
Who do you try to impress,
who is the object of your glow!

Oh, ye of little sight,
said the gentle little beacon!
Creatures with light eternal,
don’t shine to stir public opinion.

I gleam, ’cause that’s my life,
I know no other way of existence.
Puny apes gotta find an agenda,
for most are anemic of effulgence.

And you have the gall to call us bugs,
while your mind is stuck in gutter!
My fire bears proof of existence,
you carry yours as cheap souvenir.

(Note: as a biologist I must mention, this is a purely poetic piece, not to be analyzed with science, for evolutionarily speaking, glowworms use their glow to warn away predators, and attract mate.)

Koran-e Kainat (Ayat of Amity) | Abhijit Naskar | The Humanitarian Dictator

Hayat is my hadith,
Galaxies are my gita.
Interfaith, my torah,
Secularism, my sutta.

Each of your holy texts
bears news of my advent,
yet none is whole enough,
to contain my sentience.

Four vedas fall short,
as well as four gospels.
No testament is full testament,
gospel supreme is mind indivisible.

Live without hate, you're Hadith-e Hayat.
Live a life whole, and you're Koran-e Kainat.
