Love Liberty Bondage (The Sonnet) | The Gentalist
Love is liberty, love is bondage,
This won’t make sense to an egotist.
Love is liberty when unselfish,
Bondage when selfish.
To be bold yet gentle and unselfish,
That is the whole of love eternal.
Whom you love, you’ll die to protect,
To die for love is to be immortal.
Mere reading love stories means nothing,
Become a radical new story of love ever told.
Love is degradation as well as salvation,
When unselfish we rise, when selfish we fall.
A drop of lover’s sweat outdivines barrels of holy water.
Only love is divine, rest are lesser echoes from days afar.

after spending an evening scrolling
through pictures of the Himalayas.
Yet I can tell you who I am,
I don’t need a million lines but one.
Iman insaniyat, mazhab muhabbat*;
Pani, agua, water, it’s all one.
Take my Bible, Koran & Vedas,
Take my Origin of Species.
Throw me to the fires of hell,
My life will still smell of roses.

You can train a mind to think, but you can’t train a heart to love. Either you love or you don’t, there’s no training. Either you love or you don’t, there’s no thinking. Nobody thinks twice before hating, then why should you think twice before loving! Until love becomes instinctive as hate, nothing will change.
