The Loco Sonnet

Better to be loco for something,
Than to be sane for nothing.
Better to fight and die for a purpose,
Than to sit around and do chanting.
Better to love and be exploited,
Than to be self-obsessed and crooked.
Better to disagree and annoy each other,
Than to hide the differences fostering hatred.
Better to be a know-nothing idiot,
Than to be a know-it-all loudspeaker.
Better a character without fancy clothes,
Than fancy clothes without character.
There’s no future without a united humanity.
The whole world is a reflection of me.

Difference & Discrimination (The Sonnet)

There ain't no difference that can't be conquered,
Except for those that are rooted in inhumanity.
A bigot's emphasis on their supremacy over others,
Is not a difference in opinion but clinical insanity.
Nobody is inferior to nobody in this world of ours,
Except for those who think of others as such.
Neither ancestry nor luxury defines a character,
Conduct alone defines character, above all fuss.
Say, discrimination is not a difference in opinion,
It's an act that sets animals apart from humans.
Free speech is a phenomenon of human society,
Hate speech is an act of stoneage barbarians.
Let us distinguish differences from discrimination,
Then celebrate differences while treating discrimination.

Superstition 101 | Divane Dynamite

Why does the mind crave superstition! It’s because superstition is a psychological apparatus for self-preservation. And it appears to us as truth because the only truth our brain is concerned with is the one that takes away our anxiety and aids in our survival, even if that truth happens to be just another lie our brain cooks up to maintain internal order.

However, neurologically speaking, there is no such thing as a mind without superstition. Your belief that you have no superstition, is just another superstition. So, it’s not about developing a mind without superstition, which is impossible, rather it is about being aware of the superstitions as much as possible, and reject those that are particularly harmful, for the self and society.

You don’t have to agree with everything others believe, in order to realize they are human. My teacher (GC), in his childish naivety, used to believe a lot of things that are sheer nonsense, but I still love him. When you love, you accept, when you lack love, you judge. Besides, he is the one who set me on fire for the world.

You see, disagreement and discrimination are two different things. And we gotta focus on eliminating discrimination, not disagreement. We gotta focus on being human, not on being superior to each other. Somos todos idiotas – we are all idiots. The sooner we realize this, the sooner we can behave wise.

No Such Thing as Objective Truth | Sin Dios Sí Hay Divinidad

There is no such thing as an objective truth, it’s all subjective. Unless the brain finds a way to observe the universe, independent of the brain, every truth is subjective truth.

To hell with truth, I say! Better lose truth, than lose your humanity. Better lose truth, than lose love. Love first, truth second. Humanity first, intelligence second!

My theology is not rooted in God, but in people. My philosophy is not rooted in knowledge, but in people. My science is not rooted in reason, but in people. Mi iglesia son humanos, mi cielo son humanos, mi fe son humanos.

Divinity and worship are two different things. Worship is an act of self-preservation, divinity is an act of self-annihilation – divinity is annihilation of the self for the uplift of others. Let the people find a shelter in you, and you shall attain an eternal shelter in them. Un corazón amable es un corazón religioso.

Where there is indoctrination, there is control. Where there is control, there is no love. And where there is no love, there is no religion. Scripture is literature, period – nothing more, nothing less. If you cannot speak of religion, without quoting your scripture, you don’t understand religion.

In the fight between love and god, love always wins. And whenever love wins, god wins. Why? Because god is love, god is oneness. And love is but oneness in practice. Love is not something that merely enhances existence – love is existence.

Don’t Have to Agree, to Love (Sonnet 1347) | Abhijit Naskar | Visvavatan: 100 Demilitarization Sonnets

You don’t have to agree with a person
completely, to love them – accept them.
There are a few, I disagree with plenty,
yet till death, I’ll fight for them.

Not all that Rumi wrote apply today,
yet I love Mevlana like my own brother.
Even more of Aquinas are out of date,
yet like a friend I love my Thomas.

Heart doesn’t care about consensus of the brain,
Heart only cares for an inexplicable closeness.
Intellect has no bearing over heart’s closeness,
Often intellect is a barrier to life’s wholeness.

Intellect is boon, but only when it helps wholeness.
Being right is not necessarily the mark of goodness.
