Old and New (The Sonnet) | Sermon of Sustainability

Old is not necessarily gold,
New is not necessarily cool.
Stereotypes without scrutiny,
Sustain only a society of fools.
Answer to one stereotype is not another,
Answer to one assumption is not another.
To make assumption is not wrong but,
To assume it as truth supreme is rhubarb.
Perception is all about assumption,
Our brain hasn’t evolved to observe reality.
Biases prevent the observation of biases, unless,
You are hellbent to expand across comfort and luxury.
Stereotypes are archetypes of self-preservation.
Look outside the self and you’ll find assimilation.

Biochemistry Sonnet | Amantes Assemble

Chemicals breed prejudice,
Chemicals breed love.
Chemicals breed hate and rage,
Chemicals breed the atoning dove.
Chemicals breed walls of divide,
Chemicals breed the bridge to unite.
Chemicals breed death and disease,
In those very chemicals we find sight.
Chemicals are us, we are the chemicals,
In this mortal world there is nothing else.
While most are run by the whim of chemicals,
Some bend chemicals at will, as true sapiens.
Chemicals are the cause, chemicals are the result.
Awareness of chemicals is awareness of the world.

Esperanza Impossible Sonnet 30

There is nothing free about your will,
All of it is conditioned to the hilt.
If you are to foster any original will,
A lot of soil you’ve got to till.
Perception is not observation,
Perception is prediction.
The brain doesn’t care about observing,
It only puts forward a self-serving illusion.
Your will is but puppet to that illusion,
Which means you are but a puppet to evolution.
You do have the brain power to take control,
But it’ll take a lot of inconvenient self-correction.
If you can do that, you shall rise as sapiens.
Or you’ll just end up as compost in nature’s garden.

I suffer, therefore I am (Loneliness Psychology, The Sonnet) | Armor of The World

Being happy alone is no sign of genius,
It is either narcissism or hypocrisy.
You’ve got to be extremely selfish,
To be happy without human company.

If your heart is alive and human,
Loneliness will cause you misery.
It’s only the self-absorbed animal,
Who don’t need people to be happy.

It’s okay if you are alone and miserable,
It is but a healthy mind’s healthy reaction.
Do not romanticize it with phony philosophy,
For derangement starts with self-deception.

Fact of the matter is – I suffer, therefore I am.
Life is but a cosmic dance between dusk and dawn.

Hometown Human Sonnet (Polyglots have more fun) | Vande Vasudhaivam

Everybody loves Rumi,
I learnt his tongue,
So I could pick up where he left off.
Better than basking in borrowed light,
Is to be an original light to the world.

Everybody yells, viva la libertad,
I learnt el idioma, so I could
humanize the paradigm of revolution.
Everybody loves Indus valley diversity,
Annitiki munde anni shaashtralu nerchkunnanu,
So I’m never out of spice for my humanitarianism.

Everybody loves boasting about their culture,
I spent years making all the cultures my own.
Thus my strength was amplified a thousand folds,
My sight expanded beyond all norms of vision known.

Polyglots have more fun – there is no question.
When science, poetry and polyglottery come together,
That’s the beginning of a paradigm bending revolution.

Ancestry is Garbage (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Visvavatan: 100 Demilitarization Sonnets

DNA test may reveal your ancestry,
But there is no DNA test for character.
IQ may reveal deficit in logical aptitude,
There’s no IQ test for excellence or genius.

If bloodline dictated destiny,
We’d still be dangling from trees.
Not that we’ve done much better,
But at least there is possibility.

In the end we are all monkeys,
We all come from the jungle.
Question is, have we conquered
the jungle that lurks in our heart,
have we risen yet above the animal!

Ancestry is garbage, IQ is useless,
Living humans don’t rely on such nonsense.
Heart, brain, backbone, these make who we are,
Everything else is mythology of the savages.

Sonnets to Write Before I Sleep (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | The Humanitarian Dictator

When I finished my first 1000 sonnets,
I felt, now I shall take it slow.
But now at the finishing of second 1000,
I feel, I gotta write thousands more!

The first thousand took me four years,
the second thousand took me two years,
all without an ounce of industry support,
I am the sole maker of my literary empire.

Sonnets are my vessel of reason,
Sonnets are my bearer of justice.
Sonnets are my medium of divinity,
I’m my sonnets – antidote to malice.

Proof of poetry is in the spirit,
Proof of justice is among the just.
Worlds to unite before I sleep,
Proof of life is in standing guard.
