Hello dear friends and readers, what's up? We're in 2023 how exciting is that? Okay for many it's been far from that but there's a lot to be grateful for.

I haven't blogged for a long time but here are some of the things I have been up to:

I wrote the first four Wickedly Good Souls books, the spin-off series of my Dark Spell series, I am hoping beyond book 5 that we won't be needing any more but it might go into a 6th however Wickedly Good Souls will come to its humble conclusion. It mainly follows our loveable rogue Astrid and friends such as Evanora Passe, Gwendolyn Passe, Damien Daughtry and the Lightbringer everyone loves to hate: Samuel Reynaldi.

I am planning both a spin-off series for Samuel Reynaldi's character and the character of Everilda Daughtry. Some of you will ask why Everilda? She still has a story to tell. As for Isra, Wickedly Good Souls tells a lot about her and her future beau Astrid.

I am also releasing my first reverse harem/ why choose romance in early 2023. It has only just been sent to my editor and much of the beta reader feedback has been fantastic. Burned by the Fae (No series title as of yet) follows our heroine Katerina as she battles the supernatural along with her long time companion Elias but when Katerina's life becomes in peril, Lucien Deviante, a vampire is the one who comes to her rescue. Meet his side kick Warrick, a morbid demon who has plans for Katerina and we have a mix for trouble. When the ARC is ready I will be advertising this on my socials.

I also have other projects to do but you probably won't hear about those until later in the year. The release of Wickedly Good Souls 3 & 4 will hopefully happen before May 2023. And I plan on writing Burned by the Fae Sequel after Wickedly Good Souls 4 is done.

Meanwhile before Christmas i had a week where I have 25000 KU reads so I wanted to thank everyone for those. If I had not have been so busy I might have come on here to talk about this sooner! Let's just say November and December were busy months for me but keep on plugging everyone. I will be back soon.

Hello everyone, holy crap has it been hectic the past few months! So in February, we had the boxed set for Dark Spell series 1-4 and oh boy was that amazing. In the end, it sold over 400 copies during the promotional period (three weeks) which I am super chuffed over and really happy with all the feedback I had.

So in between that, I've been dealing with writing my Dark Spell series spin-off. Yes, I am working on a spin-off. I won't say too much yet but characters Samuel Reynaldi and Astrid are going to be in it. We are also going to see the origins of Damien Daughtry, Nathaniel Grimsbane, and Gwendolyn Passe (if you know then you know) This has been something that I have been working on since December 2021 as I finished writing my first PNR back in November 2021.

Yes. I wrote my first paranormal romance. And it drops in exactly six weeks. Forbidden Rendezvous with the Devil is a witch vampire romance where we meet twenty-five-year-old Sabine. She's just escaped this toxic relationship with her ex-boyfriend Oliver Rein and has moved to Gloomvale to start afresh however she's got a job working at Bad Brews coffee house which is owned by Tristan Roseblood. The local vampire in town but she's got no idea who he is. Tristan is quite mean to Sabine at first. He seems to know how she's ended up here and that she's newly single. Sabine doesn't catch on at first but Tristan knows way more about her than he's letting on. So when Tristan invites Sabine to have a drink with him to get to know her, just what happens when she's thrust into a chaotic world whereby vampires, demons and revenge is all on the table? Tristan begs Sabine to leave insisting that she's in too deep! But when Sabine turns to Tristan's brother Laurence for comfort (also a vampire) things can go only get more complicated from here on out. Hello everyone, Isra here. So as I write this it's four o'clock in the morning UK time and I've just finished looking at the reviews for Kissing Darkness. To be honest, I don't check them often as I am very busy writing. I am releasing my first PNR (Paranormal romance) in May 2022 and am half a chapter away from finishing that. But I just wanted to pop on here and acknowledge the grand reception Kissing Darkness has had on Goodreads.

Two things to note: 1. It was published Summer of 2019. 2. It is the fifth in the series.

Now I have always personally raved about this book as it was my absolute favourite out of all of them to write. But reading these reviews has made my day because now it is the readers favourite too. While I have taken the time to read and reply to every single review on itself, I wanted to do a little acknowledgment here and just say how thankful I am for so many people taking a chance on a fifth book out of eight-book series. It really has made my day.

To note further, The Dark Spell series final three remaining books will be out early 2022 and I can't wait to bring them to you!!

Hey everyone, Isra here so I’ve had a really exhausting week. I really do want to call it the week from hell. I have recently been re-branding my book series whereby I am making subtle changes to four titles. Basically changed Blackened Series to Dark Spell Series as it suits my writing better and changing Blackened to Dark in the four titles where it appears. So it’s a very subtle change however it does require new book covers and new formatting to be done.

28th May 2021

I contacted a seller on Fiverr who said he was capable of handling my project. (I don’t use Fiverr and would not recommend it for book marketing but I’ve had good experiences with covers on there before) However he did an amazing job with the first cover and so I requested he designed the remaining four in the series. I also said I needed formatting at this time but had somebody in mind. He said he could do that for me also as I was “perfect buyer” however I didn’t agree with his price so we agreed on a better one. At this point all was well.

However we had just done “Her Dark Love” cover and was now moving forward to “Kissing Darkness” (my personal favourite in the entire series) I didn’t like how he was shouting and being abusive with me and failing to understand that when he messaged at 5am in the UK time zone, it was sleep time. He deliberately delayed fixing the issues and when I came back online to check progress, he had been abusive once more, asking me what my problem was. Here’s the thing, I asked for some very simple tweaks. Had he been professional perhaps he would have realized my concerns were genuine. Her hand on the cover had been badly photoshopped so that it looked like she wasn’t even holding the green orb. The lightning show was a mess and blurry. Those were two things I expected him to fix this was on Friday 4th June. Finally Friday evening, he had presented me with the cover and I was very pleased. Now I knew formatting was coming next…. I sent him the files already so I expected a prompt delivery as the covers had been. (My previous formatter who has retired usually did it on same day)

Saturday and Sunday, I heard nothing from the seller so presumed he had been getting on with the job at hand. Monday morning at 5am, he messages me insisting he cannot do the formattingunless the price was increased by three times what we had agreed so I made the suggestion for him to refund me. During this time. I’ve had feedback from a trusted author group on FB led by a very respectable NY Times Bestseller Author and they’ve pointed out on one of the covers her hand is badly photoshopped (eurgh again) and the titles are not standing out. So again, very simple tweaks as I had to admit I absolutely adored the art on them.

He was becoming increasingly angry at me when I suggested this and accused me of being a scammer. I said no, I’m simply asking you to make some tweaks to which he then came back at me, “I don’t want to work with you. I’ve been working with you all week and I am tired.” He was extremely rude in this response. I said okay but I have five covers that need fixing. He said, “That’s a you problem.” He then requested to cancel the order so I’d be refunded but I’d have to order again to pay for the covers. I said they need fixing first before we do anything of that nature. He insisted on cancelling. I cancelled his request. He blew up at me again and said what do you want? I tried to reason with him for around three hours but it was fruitless. I finally agreed to accepting the cancellation. He then spam messaged me saying will you order for the covers?

I said no as they haven’t been fixed. I also contacted Fiverr trust and safety team because of his behaviour. (Normally I wouldn’t bother as I am used to rudeness from other people but this was despicable. You don’t harass a customer who has paid you money and then insult them saying you are tired of them to add further insult to injury) It was at this point, I realized I was going to have re-hire somebody else to do the covers and yes also rehire to do formatting. This was exhausting for me and I have to say I became very frustrated and stressed.

Thankfully, the trust and safety team were fantastic. However this seller decided to hound me on Goodreads (he sent screenshots to prove it) Amazon, Facebook and Instagram which was where had messaged me insisting I was a scammer and fraudulent author (I had already contacted Amazon to change the covers back to old ones- but it takes around 24 hours to do so)

Honestly, this was a harrowing experience. I already avoid Fiverr for most things anyway but now I seriously recommend even book covers are a complete no, no, no on there. Don’t be fooled by the fancy colourful imagery on the gig listings. These people are unprofessional, speak to you like something off the back of their shoe the moment you ask for improvements.

Luckily my story has a happy ending. I managed to find a new source for covers. (I’ve had Her Dark Soul done today) and I was able to find a formatter and be refunded but it doesn’t take away from the fact that this was horrific experience whereby I felt desolate, low and depressed as well as being frustrated because of how unprofffesional it was. I was surrounded by good people who rallied around to help me resolve the problem. Others, may not be. Please whatever you do. Do not use Fiverr. The seller in question is Artstudio4_

He has finally left me alone now. But I am doing a courtesy in warning others as I do not want what happened to me to become someone else’s reality.

I will update you all when the new covers are done and when I’ll also have my paperbacks available again. I am sorry this isn’t the most cheery post but I have to be real and authentic with my audience, when I say, this really hit me hard. It took me to a place I haven’t been in for a very long time.

Hello all, been a while since I have posted on my blog. So I’ve been a little busy with a special project. I’ve been reflecting on next steps for my dark fantasy fairytale series and I’ve made a couple of changes. Now they are going to be the same books. Albeit, modernised to a degree.

However since I have been writing these since 2013, I have grown as a writer and have become more aware of my writing style, what my books entail and how to best incorporate that so it’s simplified for my audience. I’ve had an indepth idealisation of how I predicted the market would be back when I first published with Author House in 2015 (Vanity Publisher, steer clear) but now I know what the market is like so here is the changes in full.

Her Blackened Heart, Blackened Series Book 2 is now Her Dark Heart, Dark Spell Series Book 2

Suffice to say there is a greater plan with this rebranding however I did feel Blackened was a bit of a mouthful. It didn’t seem necessary and my more decent titles contain dark so dark was a better fit for me in my opinion.

I planning on releasing Touched by Darkness this year… I have began working on it since October 2020 but began writing it officially 11th May 2021!

So that is the update folks, I shall be updating various social media in due course, Amazon has been updated, Goodreads I need a librarian to do it. But it should all be up and running very soon.

Hey lovely people hows it going? Well I know it's been a while since I've posted anything here. I mean does any author still use Goodreads blogging? On a serious note, I've been super busy racing against time to get "Heart of Oz" finished ready for the October 23rd release of Once Upon A Rebel Fairytale boxset which I am super excited for... Incidentally, I did manage to finish it on July 3rd, which of course after it was sent to my editor. A super sweet lady named Jody.

After that I began work on the first chapter of book 6, I know that's a little weird but since I like to include the next chapter of the new book in each one, I decided it was only right. So "Raven's Curse" which follows "Her Blackened Rose" began on July 8th. I was very happy as I got this done around July 15th so that too will be going to my editor as soon as we can sort that out. As that will be my next release!

This meant that I am now working on "Her Blackened Love" which I actually started back in August last year. This is the prequel of the Blackened Series. I wasn't originally going to do one. It just sort of happened. I was going through the history of Isra & Everilda and realized there was quite a backstory there of why they were so at war with each other and of course, we needed some explanation of why Isra was the way she is... so that put paid to that. There was also the question of Astrid, the raven turned man and whether he had a part in Isra's past. I decided that yes that should be but for Astrid, I thought his history should be inclined towards the light... rather than darkness although it's very clear he has experience with both.

Astrid has always been a very bold character for me and he's very complex to write for but at the same time, he is also very three dimensional. In the sense that one minute he's one thing, the next he's expanded on it. My inspiration for this was something the ahem, real life Astrid did... obviously I won't breach any confidences here but it did open up a whole new world for the character which I hope to continue to broaden his horizons as I get to work in this novel and the one that follows it. (Book 5 in series)

So as I sit here sipping my coffee with the sun streaming through the windows... I am reminded that inspiration can come from any time and place... and so my mind is fresh and I am able to continue.

This is just a short update but wanted to keep people aware of what I was doing, so they are not sitting around thinking I am not working ahead on the next book because believe me I am raring to go. I do have a few health issues that do cause the odd problem/ delay here and there but I fight against them as hard as I can... ultimately I don't want my readers sat awaiting the next book in my series for more than a year if I can honestly help it so believe me when I say "Her Blackened Rose" is coming as soon as me and the editor, Jody, can get that done. :)

In the meantime, I am plugging away on "Her Blackened Love" with a few surprises in store. ;)

Hello everyone Isra here. I haven't been able to come here and blog about things as much as I would have liked too because there has been a few changes in my wake.

Firstly, I have had to hire a new editor as the one I had proved to be a let down professionally but it doesn't matter as I had already began new covers for the Blackened Series and Logan and Serephina's Transcended Love so in short, the Blackened Series will have a complete relaunch with new covers and new editing, how exciting.

Secondly, I have been spending most of my time finishing my third book "Her Blackened Rose" which I managed to complete yesterday so that's one less thing off the to do list as well. This is the third book in the Blackened Series and I really do hope to have it ready by November 2018 which will be a tight stretch but since i have found someone capable of the job at hand that should be a lot more feasible.

So in short here's the dates I have in mind for the Blackened Series and Logan and Serephina-

July 2018- Her Blackened Soul re-release
Aug 2018- Her Blackened Heart re-release
October 2018- Her Blackened Rose release
January 2019- Logan and Serephina re-release

Sometime in 2019- YA Fantasy Novel release
"Her Blackened Love" release Summer 2019

Now these dates are just rough outlines at the moment but I'll know more when I talk to my editor, I know she has me pencilled in for May 2018 so it should be smooth sailing.

Anyway as a result of this, I will be seeking out reviewers to receive ARC copies of the book in exchange for an honest review on amazon... if this sounds like your type of thing then please get in touch with me around June... but I will ask for this again at that time just to touch base on everything.

As of today I am embarking on a new project- A YA fantasy as part of a fairytale boxset I am part of subject to release in 2018. It is a bit of a late starter but I did my outlines several months ago so I aim to have this one done by July as most of the planning is done.

Hello everyone Isra here. Sorry for the delay in my postings at least you can say I'll never be spamming you, well laughter aside here's what's going on.

Book Covers- I am rebranding my book covers. This is a process that could take at least a month or two but it's important to my brand and what I stand for in the fantasy novel industry. While I do like some of my current covers, I always feel like there is room for improvement in anything you do in life.

Facebook Page- I am no longer using my facebook author page. The reason for this is as follows: the algorithms have become so poor that it's very hard to connect with readers/ fan s and so instead I am using just my group Isra Sravenheart Reader Hang out https://www.facebook.com/groups/18995... which people are more then welcome to join.

Paperback Giveaway- In March I am going to be part of 10 paperback book giveaway which features 10 authors including myself sponsored by Pict Publishing a company that empowers women authors and all women. Physical Giveaways Ran by Myself- I have decided to stop the physical giveaways that I was self running. We've done things like to win a kindle oasis and others so expect more of this type of thing.

At the moment for the time being I am concentrating on finishing "Her Blackened Rose" so I can get to work on a new YA fantasy project that has an October deadline. However when I have "Her Blackened Rose" out of the way, I will have more time to do things.

Sorry this update is so short. There's a lot going on over here and I don't want to bore people but at the same time wanted to keep you all updated and there are lots of things in the works.

I am also working on dealing with my health issues, which I am happy to report are getting better. Everything takes time so I do appreciate anyone who has decided to stick with me and I can promise a lot of exciting things in the near future. As the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day. :)

Okay so onto business. I have set up a reader group on Facebook for people to join, interact with my books/ other books as long as in fantasy/ paranormal genre. And also later on I plan on having other authors in there, doing takeovers and other cool stuff. I also want to do compettions for those who promo my books/ offers to be able to win amazon gift cards and more, so essentially a street team in that sense but a more fun angle. This primary reason for this group is the facebook pages set up at the moment. Authors don't get to interact much with readers due to Facebook blocking readers from seeing posts. This has been happening for a while but it's about to get worse so many authors are seeking alternatives to keep reader interaction going and rightly so because none of us want our readers to miss out on our giveaways, offers and other stuff we offer.


I will be resuming my reader giveaways where I giveaway my handmade items in the new year. The next one is a mermaid paperweight so definitely look out for that!
