Nicole Warren's debut novel, Cold November Rain, was selected as a Women's Fiction Finalist in the 2016 IAN Book of the Year Awards. She is a member of Romance Writers of America.

Nicole resides in the lush Pacific Northwest with her husband, two young adult kids, a peppy Pomeranian named Giuseppe, and an overly-loveable cat aptly named Romeo.

Nicole graduated cum laude from NCU with a degree in business; however, her creative side has been clamoring for attention for years and she has finally given in. In addition to writing romance, Nicole loves vacationing, hiking, reading all things paranormal and supernatural, and simply spending time with her family.

Sometimes the reason I suffer from writer's block is due to lack of sleep. If I'm staring blankly at my similarly blank screen, feeling fuzzy-headed, I ask myself if I stayed up too late the night before or if I woke before the sun that morning. If the answer to either question is yes, then, I admit it, I might just close down the computer and take a nap! :) When I wake up refreshed and ready to type away (instead of staying tired and foggy-headed all day, getting not a thing done) I'm reassured the nap was time well spent!

Another type of writer's block I suffer from is when I become hung up on a scene or even plot, and I find myself going in circles and not able to choose which way to go. In that instance I know I just need to take a break from the rut I've found myself in and go for a walk. Overthinking is a real block to the process. So if I can go for a walk and get my mind off of the conundrum for even just ten minutes, I find that when I return I have somehow magically untied the knot I was in and am suddenly fluid with my writing again.

Lastly, my most favorite way of dealing with any kind of writer's block is to read, read, read! Inspiration is so important and so is honing one's skills. For me, reading is essential!(less)
