Free on Sunday, November 10th, the kindle edition of my first novelette. "Envelopes of Hope" is the story of a young girl who, with the support of her family, finds her way out of the darkness of substance abuse. Inspired by a family member, the story is meant to provide hope and inspiration to those who have found themselves involved in this horrific epidemic.

Free Book

Free today January 17th--"My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette." I initially had the idea to write this (historical fiction) novelette as a tribute to my mother's family who came from Russia in the early 1900s. As I wrote, it evolved into a tribute to all who have come, and are coming, to America for a better life. A quick read, the story details life in Russia, the voyage to America, the ordeal suffered at Ellis Island, the Lower East End of New York, and life in America. As an added note, the photo on the front is of my mother, taken in 1931 when she was four years old. (This book is appropriate for all ages.) Please share with your friends.

Free Historical Fiction

Free on March 27th and March 28th--"My Name is Rebecca" is the story of a father and his sons who emigrated from Russia to the United States in the early 1900s, living in New York and then settling in Wisconsin. The reader accompanies the family as they leave behind their homeland to escape persecution and poverty, searching for religious freedom and a better life. They bring not only their beliefs and traditions to America, but they also bring the story of their family to hand down to future generations. Based on the story of my mother’s family, it is dedicated to all who have come to America for a better life, which is all of our families. Although the book is historical fiction, there are true stories included. (As a side note, the photo on the cover is of my mother taken in 1931 when she was four years old.).

Envelopes of Hope

When my daughter went into rehab, she wrote a letter thanking me for not giving up on her. That inspired my first book, "Envelopes of Hope." Although it is a novelette, the message of family, inspiration, and love is powerful. It is free tomorrow, August 17th, on Amazon in the kindle format. If you don't read e-books, contact me for a free paperback edition through the contact page of my website: mirikalblog.com
. (Please put "free book" on the subject line so I don't miss it.) You can click on this link to read reviews of the book. https://www.amazon.com/Envelopes-Hope....

And please share with your friends on your social media.
