To find an E. K. Seaver, you must set a trap. The best option is to lure her in using chocolate, blankets, and a typewriter, but if none of those are on hand, spare books and Broadway music can be easily substituted.
She prefers to be wild and free, though. Whether it includes adventuring through the Rocky Mountains or curled up at a local bookshop, she uses her freedom to produce art. From books to scarves to paintings, Ms. Seaver strives to honor her King in every aspect of her creative works. She desires her stories to hold meaning beyond the tale and attempts to follow in the footsteps of storytellers who came before her.
You can find her and her wild adventures at ekseaver.wordpress.com or on Instagram @ekseaver.author

One time I was sitting in a coffee shop with earbuds in but not listening to something, as you do, and two people sat down at the table beside mine. The guy was from Germany with a strong accent and the girl from TN. The first thing they started talking about, I kid you not, was their criminal record. Both had a solid handful of minor charges. For the next hour I listened to them use what-- honestly what very much sounded like code words as they discussed setting up a... I believe it was an iced coffee business? It sounded so sketch and I was incredibly invested in this idea as I was listening to it. So invested, in fact, that I wrote an entire chapter of my book without realizing it because I was trying to make sure they didn't know I was listening. At some point, I glanced over and made eye contact with the man, and less than five minutes later both of them got up and left the coffee shop. I have no idea what I was listening to for an hour but it was so interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if I'd been listening to a criminal investigation being plotted. Still curious what it was, to be honest.(less)

I wrote The Reflections (coming Spring 2022) because I was annoyed that I had to take the SAT to attend college and didn't like the system. (This lead to the thought process-- what if the SAT tested more than just your mind? And what if the consequences for failure were greater?) I guess it's no surprise that one of my favorite book ideas came after attending a conference where N. D. Wilson and Andrew Peterson (along with other Rabbit Room members) spoke about writing and coming up with ideas. (less)

Em Seaver Gimme a book with very little romance, maybe some dystopian or murder mystery vibes, very little language, and... idk. Dark-haired British guys or something. I need recommendations.

Em Seaver Now that it's spooky book season, it's the perfect time to get your copy of The House That Didn't End! It's creepy fantasy, but not too much horror to keep you up at night.
