About: The Mind of a Poetess

Elysse Poetis Elysse Poetis Almost May, 2020. Like the rest of the world, these days, I too stay home. As you know, reading, writing and photography are my greatest pleasures. Creativity happens even in my dreams.

Fortunately, calm is part of my overall nature - A great asset for any creative mind focused on detail and capable of understanding the overall picture of reality. Actually, the present changes in the world I predicted them in writing, starting with year 2001 when I wrote "The Mind of a Poetess" - published in 2006.

The book incorporates futuristic predictions, not to mention the reasons for all necessary changes at the global level. In my writings all realities are mixed with silly injections of humor and entertaining verses and stories - Fun reading for all ages and all blankets of our global society.
Enjoy looking inside this beautiful book. Have fun!

Mr. Cardinal - Winter in Ontario, Canada

End of February, 2020. So much snow ... So cold ...

Today I noticed the first Robin, all alone. Soon, Spring will deliver the best opportunities for good videos and photography. All nature will bloom in the next few months.

Beautiful red bird:

I lost the love of my life, my best friend, Klaus

Announcement - My beautiful Klaus, the love of my life and my best friend, passed away in September 2018. It was instant. It was unexpected and shocking.

I am devastated!

In this VIDEO: "The Great White North" ... admired by Klaus in the Spring of 2018 - I captured this image of Klaus' gentle nature, his elegant spirit, his beauty, tranquility and peaceful mind, reflecting. As you can see, he was not aware that I was filming him, and he tried to gently move out of the way. But it was him I wanted in this video - Just him and the nature he so much loved.

Happy author/poet, sensitive and emotional

Writing and photography is so much work and fun. The details involved until the final product is ready ... The infinite temptation to change things ... The last minute overwhelming emotions ...

Yet, at some point the piles of text and/or images have to be assembled in what we call BOOKS. That's when emotions inject fear in us!

"Is this good? Can these books entertain the readers? Isn't this to childish? How can I let it go?"- is what we fear most.

With e-books it is a bit easier, since we can make small changes continuously and/or revise completely the entire book. But with printed books we take risks. Huge risks! Imagine signing the proof and letting go forever. The very next minute we imagine another cover, another picture, different size, different layout or even different characters.

In my case, when I enter a book store and see my books displayed, the world rotates with me in reverse.

"Oh, my God ... What have I've done?"

Then, suddenly someone relaxed would start a conversation, and soon I find myself happy like a child, talking and talking ... And, to my surprise, people respond with kindness and they purchase the book.

I just wanted you to know that I am a happy author/poet, yet sensitive and emotional. For as long as I will exist, I will do my best in everything I do. Books will forever force me to take risks that in the end I'm positive I will not regret. The readers take similar risks when they purchase the books. Entertainment is what they invest in. My duty is to satisfy them.

My goal? - Quality via Revision

As an author Elysse Poetis, now that our long Canadian Winter is over, every day I find myself revising books, profiles, sites, pictures, etc. From one year to another I see improvement and that makes me happy. I hope that this year everything I wrote/publish will be simplified and improved in quality. I'll make revision part of my permanent routine.

The fact that these improvements are a never ending job, does not upset me in any way. I accept and I adapt, regardless of the changes in technology/science and/or business practices.

Parallel to these ambitions I'll take care of my well being, entertain my family, go see a movie, take a walk, have fun with my husband. After all, quality via revision applies to everything, including our well being.

Everyone ... Enjoy the elegance of life.

Winter in CANADA

The great white winter is almost over. We enjoyed plenty here in Canada since mid November when the snow started falling. Photography was our number one priority. My husband Klaus and I explored the entire nature of winter, and we managed to bring home plenty of perfect photographs.

Now, as Spring arrives, we will be ready to repeat the effort. Preparation helps. Discipline is needed. Ideas continue to surface. "We will succeed! ... again," we whisper in our minds.

Then, from the entire world of dreams and ideas, BOOKS will be born! ... of course, with the main ingredient "the delicate face of nature."

Time ... Incredible gift

We all realized over the last few years how important it is to stay disciplined in our overall interactions. These days we have to be careful with our time distribution.

Today, again, I find myself thinking, "I can do better!"In a "Conventional vs My FUTURE" world, my future will win! I can make it happen.

I sincerely have to seat down and re-calculate my time, and I know exactly what I need to do:

1. Less entertainment.
2. Less news.
3. Less home cooking.

Only so I can protect some of my precious time needed for writing and Social Media that matters to me, plus goodreads, of course.

NOTE: The Province of Ontario, CANADA, is the ideal place to be. It offers complete flexibility for creativity and superior atmosphere at every level.
