Finally ... Spring in Canada

Winters are long here in Canada. During the months of March and April we can only wait and pray that the cold will go away. Since yesterday, March 24, 2013, my husband and I are having our coffee and cake outside.

Oh ... What a pleasure! The birds are singing, more small planes are flying, young mothers take walks with their new-born babies ... Not to mention everyone else running for health - from humans to dogs, all happy.

In the small wild life world it is courting time. Soon tiny babies will appear in trees all around. The one thing we do not wait to hear is the crying when predators attack.

We all ask often, "Why isn't there just love and peace?" Personally, I do not think that we need so much drama in order to love better or more. Yet ...

I love TWITTER!

Twitter is simple and efficient. Most curious people, like me, love sharing what they believe to be important and/or entertaining. Two years ago I started on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ElyssePoetis and ... in the beginning I needed a bit of time to explore my options. Today, I am happy to admit that Twitter is absolutely fun. You can visit the site and view the few photos and videos I posted in the last few days.

Since I believe in a brilliant future, scientist Neil Turok become one of my favourites. I started listening to his lectures on TVO. Then I moved to YouTube for more. Mr. Turok has the ability to simplify the complexity attached to the overall mountain of discovery. With a permanent smile on his face, he makes it entertaining.

Speaking of the future - I am convinced that if we move so fast towards a quantum environment, as an author/poet/photographer I should be prepared for the transition. Who knows how these art-forms would/should manifest in a quantum world.

Regardless of tomorrow, today Twitter is my friend. It permits me to share my discoveries and my enthusiasm with the entire world. In the process, I continuously promote scientific and technological news. That's why, I love TWITTER!

Ice-Storm over - The Spring is here

Damage to the infrastructure, to people's properties ... and a dent in our Social Media activity - that's what the Ice-Storm did to us now in mid April here in The Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Yet, we love it here! This part of Ontario is incredibly beautiful, and the weather is balanced most of the time. This Ice-Storm must have been an exception to the rule of balance.

Looking at the sunny day this afternoon I cannot imagine doing anything else more important than take a trip in the fields and photograph the nature. The small planes that fly over the cities of Kitchener-Waterloo between the cotton like little clouds, with their sound create a sense of romanticism. After all, the Spring is here. The blue sky is our great witness.

I love good NEWS! ... and The ART of Baking

A planet or more being discovered .... Children being born ... People traveling the world ... Loving entertainment ... These are the subjects that make me happy when I read the news.

Food also makes me happy. Good, healthy food. Here in Canada I see incredible changes in how people shop for food and how they eat. Many plant their own herbs and cook most of their meals. Again, it is a choice, a form of exercise and overall good art.

Baking is something so popular here that even young people started to practice. Recently, a young couple (owners of a restaurant) supplied us with some great ideas. Just experiencing, and it's fun - Not to mention the pleasure. Imagine opening the oven and see the bread better looking than the ones at the market.

Next time, try it! ... and suggest "the ART of baking" to your friends.

Time ... Incredible gift

We all realized over the last few years how important it is to stay disciplined in our overall interactions. These days we have to be careful with our time distribution.

Today, again, I find myself thinking, "I can do better!"In a "Conventional vs My FUTURE" world, my future will win! I can make it happen.

I sincerely have to seat down and re-calculate my time, and I know exactly what I need to do:

1. Less entertainment.
2. Less news.
3. Less home cooking.

Only so I can protect some of my precious time needed for writing and Social Media that matters to me, plus goodreads, of course.

NOTE: The Province of Ontario, CANADA, is the ideal place to be. It offers complete flexibility for creativity and superior atmosphere at every level.

Happy author/poet, sensitive and emotional

Writing and photography is so much work and fun. The details involved until the final product is ready ... The infinite temptation to change things ... The last minute overwhelming emotions ...

Yet, at some point the piles of text and/or images have to be assembled in what we call BOOKS. That's when emotions inject fear in us!

"Is this good? Can these books entertain the readers? Isn't this to childish? How can I let it go?"- is what we fear most.

With e-books it is a bit easier, since we can make small changes continuously and/or revise completely the entire book. But with printed books we take risks. Huge risks! Imagine signing the proof and letting go forever. The very next minute we imagine another cover, another picture, different size, different layout or even different characters.

In my case, when I enter a book store and see my books displayed, the world rotates with me in reverse.

"Oh, my God ... What have I've done?"

Then, suddenly someone relaxed would start a conversation, and soon I find myself happy like a child, talking and talking ... And, to my surprise, people respond with kindness and they purchase the book.

I just wanted you to know that I am a happy author/poet, yet sensitive and emotional. For as long as I will exist, I will do my best in everything I do. Books will forever force me to take risks that in the end I'm positive I will not regret. The readers take similar risks when they purchase the books. Entertainment is what they invest in. My duty is to satisfy them.
