Elysse's POST

Tonight I created a new FACEBOOK Page named simply, Elysse Poetis: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Elysse... - Tomorrow I will continue decorating it until looks good.

Persistence is my friend these days. I work extra hours until late at night, and I enjoy it. It reminds me of 2001 when I started writing The Mind of a Poetess. It seams like yesterday, yet it was twelve years ago. The difference between then and now is huge! Then, I was engulfed in fear and tears. Now, I have peace and love, not to mention the trust and the fun.

How lucky I am!

My goal? - Quality via Revision

As an author Elysse Poetis, now that our long Canadian Winter is over, every day I find myself revising books, profiles, sites, pictures, etc. From one year to another I see improvement and that makes me happy. I hope that this year everything I wrote/publish will be simplified and improved in quality. I'll make revision part of my permanent routine.

The fact that these improvements are a never ending job, does not upset me in any way. I accept and I adapt, regardless of the changes in technology/science and/or business practices.

Parallel to these ambitions I'll take care of my well being, entertain my family, go see a movie, take a walk, have fun with my husband. After all, quality via revision applies to everything, including our well being.

Everyone ... Enjoy the elegance of life.

Happy author/poet, sensitive and emotional

Writing and photography is so much work and fun. The details involved until the final product is ready ... The infinite temptation to change things ... The last minute overwhelming emotions ...

Yet, at some point the piles of text and/or images have to be assembled in what we call BOOKS. That's when emotions inject fear in us!

"Is this good? Can these books entertain the readers? Isn't this to childish? How can I let it go?"- is what we fear most.

With e-books it is a bit easier, since we can make small changes continuously and/or revise completely the entire book. But with printed books we take risks. Huge risks! Imagine signing the proof and letting go forever. The very next minute we imagine another cover, another picture, different size, different layout or even different characters.

In my case, when I enter a book store and see my books displayed, the world rotates with me in reverse.

"Oh, my God ... What have I've done?"

Then, suddenly someone relaxed would start a conversation, and soon I find myself happy like a child, talking and talking ... And, to my surprise, people respond with kindness and they purchase the book.

I just wanted you to know that I am a happy author/poet, yet sensitive and emotional. For as long as I will exist, I will do my best in everything I do. Books will forever force me to take risks that in the end I'm positive I will not regret. The readers take similar risks when they purchase the books. Entertainment is what they invest in. My duty is to satisfy them.
