Hi there, everyone. I hope you been having a great week. I have been battling a summer cold, so I haven't been able to do much other than my day job. So there is little to update you on concerning upcoming projects. But because I'm sick, it doesn't mean I'm going to break my promises. Hey there everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week and not boiling in this crazy heat wave on the west coast. Yikes! Its hot! But enough of that. This is yet another post about the audio project and updates. There's not a lot to update you on. 

I didn't have much time this week, but I did have a couple windows here and there where I could continue my audio projects. I just started reading through the ghost story Late Shift at Pennies and I am about a third through Warped. And wow. Warped is interesting. I know it's one of the first things I ever published right after high school, but now reading through it ten years later, I'm not only finding it as great as I believed it was back then. It it is a bit dull compared to stuff I typically write now. When I started reading it out loud my goal strictly was to fix errors, improve flow, add minor details when needed, and deleting unneeded text.  I did not and still do not want to change the essential story, because it is the product of an entirely different mindset back then than what I would  have written today. If I were to start completely rewriting certain parts of it, I would be rewriting the whole darn thing and it would not be the same story at all. But I'm finding I am cutting a bit more out than I intended. Many are jokes or useless goofy characters that I must have thought was at the time I original wrote it, but I now find very pointless and immature. So I don't know what will become of Warped by the end. This B movie style dinosaur scifi story may end up being a short story by the end of the audio recording re-read, and I may have to re-release it as such.  But again, that is what this who audio project is about. It isn't just about audio books. The audio books is a by product of the revision process. A year after college, I decided to really head back into all my book stuff, and found it was a little bit of a mess, and I am trying to make every thing better and the best they can be.

Hi there. For the third week in a row, life has kept me quite busy. But I did do a little bit of recording last night for the audio projects in works. (The first time I really got to touch my projects in weeks) I got a little further into  recording the short story Late Shift at Pennies, and in recording Warped. Usually around this time every year I have something such as a short novel or a couple of short stories to publish and share with the world.But because I decided this would be the year that I would start revising my old stuff to  make up for the mistakes I made in the past, progress on new projects moving forward is slow. Still I think the trade off in the end will be worth it. Hey everyone. There is some exciting news this week. Meteor City is done and is out in the wild. It should have been out a lot sooner. But it was a little tough to polish up for release, and took a long time do because of a lack of motivation. This is because its one of the darker stories I ever wrote, and the world just really sucks right now. After losing my job in a collapsing economy in a COVID-19 hot spot when civil unrest and corruption is everywhere, I did not want to continue to polish a story about a journalist in a quarantined city where a horrific pandemic mutates individuals, but I was determined to finish it. Despite the fantastical nature of the horror story, it hit really close to home, and I had to take many breaks as I polished it. It literally was nearly finished mid February before the world went insane. That is how long this took. And it might be my last horror story for a while. Months ago I did originally want to proceed and work on On All The Good Times in Boston after this, but that is a fantasy horror about the apocalypse. But I don't want to think about the end of the world and really want to focus on more light hearted stuff as I need to remove my focus on anything that parallels to this craziness happening in the world right now. Hello there everyone. I hope you are doing well. I’m back again with another blog. I have some updates and yet another book giveaway, but let’s get started.

So what’s going on? Well this past week has been insane and I have been super busy. If you been following this blog a while you know I work in environmental science and geology, and jobs had been far and few between since the pandemic happened. But this week there was an avalanche of job opportunities and I was running back and forth to so many interviews and meetings. I had six interviews, and then family stuff on Friday so it was absolute chaos. And the chaos bothered me, because I could not work on any book stuff until Saturday.

Saturday was a free day. So at noon I sat down at my desk with some ice tea and started working on finalizing more of Once Upon of Time in Boston. It is really bugging me how long it is taking to get this out. I never had a short story / novella go through so many rewrites, expansions, and just take so long to get out there before this one. So I spent most of the day just working my way through polishing the final draft to perfection. And right now I am proud to say I am 75% done. And hopefully if I get a little bit of free time this upcoming week, it can finished as soon as next week. Which is exciting. I really want to get this out there for people to read.

And then there is the summer book giveaway.
I think, for the sake of father’s day, I will put an alien invasion tale on promotion this week. Why? My own dad loved aliens. I don’t think there was a genre he loved more than scifi alien tales. And he can’t be the only one. I’m sure there’s a lot more dads into the same stuff. So this week the free short story is On The Air with Mike Gypsy & Sacheana Crow. I’ll post the synopsis below.

The day started just as normal as any other for both Mike and Sacheana. The two start the day at their daily jobs as hosts of the radio show "On the Air." Things soon become strange when callers start asking about odd lights and monsters in the sky. Baffled by what they are hearing, the hosts piece together what's going on. But they have no idea of what they are about to confront what is right outside their door.
