Jesse Booth is a USA Today Bestselling Author. He works as an IT Professional. He grew up along the Wasatch Front, but lived a couple of years in Washington State.

Jesse's parents helped him harness a love for books at a very young age. He started writing for fun in the second grade. His very first piece was a continuation of the Soup series by Robert Newton Peck. Fully illustrated by Jesse, it was called Soup on Water.

Jesse's older brother introduced him to Redwall by Brian Jacques, and the series set the foundation for Jesse's love for the Fantasy genre. Jesse then delved into Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain.

Since then, Jesse has become an avid fan of JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, and Orson Scott Card's Ender and Shadow seri

I know a lot of writers would say something like "I write something else." In all honesty, I usually sit back and think about the story up to that point and ask myself if writer's block is just in my head, or if the story is lacking in areas, causing the hindrance. I then throw different ideas off to my writing group and get their feedback.(less)

FREE! All of my Books are FREE!

 You read that title right. I’m changing things up as an author these days. Over the past few years, I’ve discovered a few things about myself. I’ve always loved writing, and I always will. But I’ve decided that selling books is overrated for a guy like me. So I’m giving all of my books away for free, digitally! High Winds released in August of this year. Want to read it for free? Great! Head on o

I just finished my 10th read-through of The Two Towers. Great stuff! The ending is particularly good. My two favorite characters really take form in the last 100 pages or so - Faramir and Sam.

I love the conflict between David and Prof, and I loved the character discovery for Megan. Alternate dimension stuff? A

“Why just read the writing? Write the reading!”
Jesse B. Booth

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”
J.R.R. Tolkien

Alex Hey man, I can't seem to find a way to direct message you, so I will just leave a comment I suppose. Anyway, I know you like Sanderson, so I wanted to recommend The Powder Mage trilogy by Brian Mcclellan. He was actually a student of Sanderson, and just finished his first trilogy which I really think you would like. The first book is Promise of Blood - so give it a go next time you're looking for a new book to read... I found the worldbuidling to be really awesome and easy to follow... you don't feel like you need to take notes like you do with some of Sanderson's books.
