Hey everyone! I hope your holidays went joyously and you're off to a good start for the winter. I've missed visiting here, but life is a little calmer at the moment. I have time for a little news:

This year started out great with a contract from Dreamspinner Press for a very different Vasquez and James novel: Because of Jade . Small teasers—Remember Jade, from the novella Yes? Well, she's a little star in this book. And Luki still gets to be a badass!

Hi everybody! I just realized I haven't posted anything here since January! I plead all sorts of excuses, but I won't bore you with them.

Instead I'll share with you a very brief excerpt from Because of Jade . It's coming in May 2014, and it's a Vasquez and James novel unlike any of the others. Luki still gets to be a badass, but more importantly, they get.. well, Jade. This excerpt (in the form of a graphic) is a peek into the relationship Luki has with Jade before she ends up in his and Sonny's care.

I got to thinking, when I've posted about Because of Jade (Vasquez and James novel coming from in May), I share so much about the Luki and Sonny's relationship with the little girl, Jade, that you may think there's no romance. On the contrary... Luki always delivers. For instance, here's a very teensy excerpt that leads up to a long, hot night of spoiling Sonny and loving him senseless.

I've had a 'cover reveal' for this beauty, Because of Jade , but unfortunately it didn't get posted here. If you haven't seen it, take a look. Reese Dante has done a wonderful job (in my completely unbiased opinion ;) ) on all the Vasquez and James covers, but this one... oh, my. I love it.

Luki Vasquez receives the news he’s still cancer free after five years, and he wants to celebrate with his whole family. A relative’s spurious claim to Jade threatens the new family, and even if they prevail in court, they could lose their little girl unless they can rescue Jade from evil hands and true peril.

Good news! Because of Jade is set to be released May 23rd, about, say, eighteen or so hours from now. It's come around faster than I expected (calendars seem to do that these days), but I've been getting ready, and want to invite you all to celebrate with me.

Here's a link to the catalog and full blurb, but just to refresh your memory quickly, this book is another new and quite different episode in the Vasquez and James love story. They've been married ten years; it's been five years since they battled Luki's cancer together and won, and he's still cancer free. They're more in love than ever, but when they suddenly find themselves responsible for the care and keeping of five-year-old Jade, they have to flex brand new muscles—for parenting, for marriage, and for romance.

I am super amped about this book, and even about my blog tour, which I've themed: The Further Adventures of the Vasquez-James Family. I'll have my usual release party at the Dreamspinner blog, which I always enjoy, and I'll chat here on Goodreads and on facebook, and other things will be interspersed here and there as well. But several of my guest blogs around the web will feature "mini-fic" stories—days in the life of Luki, Sonny, and Jade. Here's a partial schedule of events:

May 27: I'm at The Novel Approach, and Lisa will post a review by Jules! I'm aiming for another episode in the Further Adventures of the Vasquez-James family. and we always have a good time there. Expect humor and prizes, and please join in!

June 8: I'll be chatting on Dreamspinner Press facebook. Always a challenge keeping up with comments for me, but I love it. Expect a video excerpt reading, and of course, at least one chance to win.

June 12: I'll be posting a guest blog on Cup O' Porn. That's right. I have no idea what yet, but I hope to make it sexy and fun.

June 18: First time ever, I'll guest at Guys Like Romance Too! This is a great blog, and I'm really looking forward to posting about... um... I'll figure it out! Come around and find out, maybe. :)
