New Transcender Cover and Book Trailer
I'm thrilled to have unveiled the new book cover for TRANSCENDER: First-Timer today. I was never really satisfied that the original cover adequately conveyed the feeling of the story. The new cover nails it as far as I'm concerned. Most of the retail sites have already replaced the old cover, but the new one has not shown up on Goodreads yet, a situation I am trying to rectify.
Also I've posted my first book trailer for Transcender which features the new cover. Please take a look at it when you have a minute and let me know what you think.
Both the cover and trailer were produced by the phenominal Carrie Drazek Productions, and I couldn't be happier.
Of course the readers are what really matters. I hope you like them!
As a side note, I recently completed the first draft of Streaming Stars, Book 2 of the Transcender Trilogy. I hope to have it ready for publication within 60 to 90 days!

In addition, I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know that I’m revising my review policy somewhat. Up until now, I’ve had a fairly hard and fast rule not to review books in the same genre in which I write (i.e., YA paranormal fantasy). It just didn’t feel right reviewing my “competition,” so to speak. Lately, however, I’ve had a number of requests for reviews, some from authors whose work I admire, and I’ve been forced to reconsider my self-imposed rule. As a result, you will be seeing more reviews of YA books from me. Most of them will be 4 or 5 star reviews for two reasons (1) if a book doesn't sweep me up and carry me away within the first twenty pages or so, I usually set it aside for more interesting pursuits; and (2) I believe that every author who actually finishes a book and brings it to publication has poured his or her heart and soul into the work, and I have no desire to trash someone else’s baby simply because I personally wasn’t into it. I’ll leave that delicate task to the pros. The exception will be when a book has received an enormous amount of press and/or paid publicity and just doesn’t live up to the hype. Then I believe it’s fair to advise readers not to waste their money.

June was a busy month! Besides my son graduating from high school, many exciting events connected with the Transcender Trilogy also took place. First, my multi-talented friend Carrie Drazek, put the finishing touches on the cover for Book 3, ILLUMINOSITY. I'm so excited about it and can’t wait to share it with you all. It’s my favorite so far! The cover reveal will be announced in the near future. Second, my website was redesigned by Stephanie Mooney, and I posted my first blog entry! BOOK THREE AND THE BIG “C” - OPEN LETTER TO MY READERS
Dear Readers, Friends, and Fans of the Transcender Series,
Many of you have been anxiously awaiting the release of Illuminosity, Book 3 of the Transcender Trilogy. My goal was to have it released this year prior to the holidays. Unfortunately, events not within my control have pushed the release date back a bit. Although I completed the initial draft of Illuminosity, the longest book of the trilogy, in early September, after a routine mammogram later that month, I was hit with a diagnosis of breast cancer.
This shocking news turned my world upside down. Thankfully, the cancer was caught very early and had not spread to my lymph nodes. In the last six weeks I’ve undergone a flurry of tests, two surgeries, and I’m about to begin a course of radiation therapy. Fortunately, I do not need to undergo chemo-therapy. The bottom line is: I am now cancer-free, feeling great, and looking forward to getting back to work full time on my writing.
For those of you waiting for Book 3, please know that even though the holidays are hectic, I’m working on the rewrites in every spare moment. I have a wonderful editor standing by to go over the manuscript when I feel it’s in near-perfect shape. The book will be released immediately after the final edits and formatting are complete.
Carrie Drazek has designed another knockout cover for Book 3 (with a glimpse of Ryder and Arumel). I hope you will love it as much as I do. A cover reveal and announcement will be published as soon as we have a firm release date.
All of your favorite characters are back in Illuminiosity--Jaden, Ryder, Asher, Ralston, and the rest. A few intriguing new characters are also introduced as Jaden’s life takes some extraordinary new twists and turns. As with the first two books, Book 3 weaves elements of romance, adventure, fun, and even a few tears into an otherworldly tale of destiny and triumph.
Many thanks to all who have read and supported the Transcender Series these past two years. I appreciate your generous reviews, kind notes, and hearty recommendations to others. You are all very dear to me.
While working my way through the challenge of cancer, I’ve tried to keep in mind the Transcender motto: Fear not the many paths of life. Though this new adventure is not a path I would have chosen for myself, it has reminded me to live each day in gratitude. Tomorrow is promised to no one. I am so grateful for all my readers. Thanks for sticking with me!
