The novel is set in the early twentieth century and follows the journey of an immigrant girl from Northern Ireland to Australia.

I want to share that I typed this novel over the course of six years using only one finger because I am confined to a wheelchair and have fine motor skill dysfunction. The story is inspired by the life of my paternal grandmother.(less)

It is about post-WW2 Sicilian Immigration to Australia. And yes, I am typing the manuscript with one shaky finger. I think I am about 1/3 of the way through it. I have been at it for 1.5 years. I might beat my 6-year record!! Thank you for your review. Would you mind checking your star rating?. The GR rating is different than elsewhere.(less)

Barbara W. Tuchman
“Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill. Without books, the development of civilization would have been impossible. They are engines of change (as the poet said), windows on the world and lighthouses erected in the sea of time. They are companions, teachers, magicians, bankers of the treasures of the mind. Books are humanity in print.

“Why do humans drink something that makes them more dumb?”
Aidan Lucid, The Lost Son
