Add books

If you are friends with me on here, and you probably are if you can read this, it would be great of you add my book to your library.
Why you might ask?
Well, my hopes are for one, that you may want to read it one day. For another, it is amazing how many people will check out a book based solely on how many people have added it, rated or reviewed it. For us indie writers, word of mouth plays a huge part in the success or failings of what we write. So why not support one of us indie writers today by adding my book to your library. To make it easier, I have even added the link to it below.
Thanks.

At the Gates of Madness

With At the Gates of Madness gain popularity, getting noticed and being add to many "year's best lists" I thought I would add the link here so that people can add it here on Good Reads. I've also seen sales going up, reviews added on Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Tower and other sites, and each of those reviews and the adds on here help to not only show me a bit of support as an indie writer, but also might let others see it and will spark some interest. I know I have looked into books because I've seen them on other's lists, or even because they recommend them to me when I may have never seen them before. For indie writers, these social networking sites are so important. So if you have time and want to show so love and support, here's where you can add it, rate it, review it and recommend it.
Thank you to everyone that has bought, shared, recommended and supported this book. At the Gates of Madness by Shaun Meeks

Patreon is now up

A few months ago, I set up a Patreon account. I was so reluctant at first, but a few people I knew thought it would be a good way to get in touch with a new audience and offer something more to people who already enjoy what I do. So, I set it up, only telling a handful of people about it as I wanted to make sure there was already some posts up to make it worth while for subscribers. I'm here now, writing this to invite anyone who is interested to head over and join. Tiers start at $2 and go up from there. Aside from the things already up, the coming months will have reviews, new short stories, behind the scenes look at upcoming books, sneak peeks at covers and releases, as well as some informative blogs, and a few more personal ones. For the blogs, I plan on sharing some tips for writers, a look at the writing process, but also things about me, and the journey I'm on. If any of this interests you, and I hope it does, head over to https://www.patreon.com/Shaunmeeks and see what tier fits you. I look forward to hearing what people think about it.

Happy New Year

2020 has been a strange one for me, and I'm sure fpr most of you as well. It has not been the most productive on my end. My latest collection, From Nightmare, Dreams was set to be released in summer of 2020, but when the summer came, it just didn't feel right. This year the world had so many more important voices that needed to be heard than my own, so I decided to wait. And I waited, and waited.

Now, as the year changes, I want to start off 2021 with a bang. By the end of January, the collection of new and old stories will be released. I have wanted this out for so long, and seeing it coming out after a pretty nasty year, I think is a great way to wipe the dust of 2020 off and start fresh. The book has quite a few never before published stories, as well as some fan and critic favorites (And Midian Whispered Its Name, Red Velvet, In the Sun, and Dead Bill to name a few). As always, there will be some hidden surprises as well.

IFWG Publishing is also set to release the next Dillon the Monster Dick book, number 4 in the series called Heads, You Lose. This was also supposed to have come out in 2020, but again, what can you do? Originally I had an idea to do 7 books in this series, but I think now, to keep it fresh, there will be only 6, with A Touch of Death currently in the works, and then Dillon At the Gates of Madness to round out the series. That's the plan at least, but who knows if things might change before then.

I had also started a Patreon in late 2019 and had thought it was a great idea. I had no idea what 2020 would bring, but a little after Covid hit I put the page on hold. During the protests, I didn't think it was a place for a writer to be charging people to read relatively unimportant things. Like I said, there were more important voices that needed to be heard. Not that I had many subscribers anyway, which is why I had a funeral for my Patreon account and buried it. I doubt I will ever revisit it again. It was more work than it was worth.

I have written a few stories this year and plan to start submitting again. If you've read this far, i hope the New Year is good to us all. I hope there will be a sense of normalcy instead of the sense of dread that has been looming. Stay safe. Be well. I hope we can all see each other soon.
