There wasn't an incident as such, but I was blown away by the Valley of the Kings. It is so - I hesitate to use the word 'desolate', but it is a world on its own. The Valley is unique and mysterious and yet quite peaceful. When I was trying to decide what to write, my visit to Egypt made me think that this was the perfect country in which to set a mystery.
