Award winning novelist and poet, J.A. Snow embarked on an incredible journey several years ago when she began translating sixty generations of her family genealogy into a series of historical novels. The first complete series, is called An American Family; five consecutive books of history of the Snow family from their medieval roots in Porlock, England all the way up to the Dust Bowl of the 1930's in America. She tells the story of her 11th generation great grandmother who crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower with the original Pilgrims and takes the family through several wars and devastating epidemics.

My author page is called An American Family and I invite you to follow me there. Our family was a very interesting bunch! I use my author page as a blog, with updates on the series, pictures of where the family lived, etc. I am currently working on Volume Four called Escaping the Yoke, about the Snow family during the Revolutionary War period. If you do not subscribe to Facebook my personal email is jacisnow@hotmail.com so feel free to write to me. I would love to hear about your "branch" of the family tree!(less)

I apologize to readers. Something happened with my page and all my reviews got combined under Blood and Cobblestones. I am trying to get Goodreads' help to fix it so please bear with me.

Hi Kathy,
Well we are distant cousins then, my ancestors are from Constance and Nick's son Stephen. I see that you too have researched your genealogy...the Snow family was a fascinating line to follow. I have spent over 30 years doing just that! (other lines as well...not just the Snows. I hope you enjoy the An American Family series...from The Snows of Somerset County (the oldest of our Snow roots I have documented) forward. I am working on Book Five now.
