YA Fantasy Author of the Eternity Series (Book 1, Ash Born).

S. R. Crawford is a young author in her early twenties. At only eighteen years of age, she published her first novel, to later re-release it as a Remastered version - Ash Born. Her fantasy series, The Eternity Series, was the start of her author journey. This series features a horde of powerful characters on opposing sides of an immortal world war, whilst going through other struggles in their day to day lives. The first two are available for purchase. Alongside her love for fantasy writing, and other worlds, S. R. Crawford is now branching out into Young Adult fiction with very real themes that are close to her heart - mental illness, hardships and existentialism.

One: do a writing prompt for something completely off topic. Writing prompts can be found everywhere. Go on Pinterest - there's loads. Once you've wrote about something random, you'll find that your creative juices will be flowing!
Two: tear a scene apart. I go through the scene listing which characters need to be in it, where it could take place, what needs to happen and then fill in the gaps. Often you find that knowing who, what, where, when and why is harder than actually writing the scene.
Then lastly: I simply walk away. Don't force it, you'll only upset yourself. If it's not working, walk away and come back later.(less)

Your readers (and even you too) are taken on a ride that can mean anything. Love, fear, laughter, sorrow - you feel it all whilst writing and what's even better is when you know you've made your readers feel it too.(less)

“I never tolerate disrespect or betrayal”
S.R. Crawford, Bloodstained Betrayal

“You don’t even know me, or what I am capable of, boy.”
S.R. Crawford, No Secrets: Remastered

“You’re not fine. You’re not. And that’s OK. The first thing I want you to do is to finally tell yourself that it’s OK not to be OK. To accept that you’re feeling badly and that something isn’t right. Too many of us are in denial because we think that to admit there’s something wrong means we’re weak or broken or odd. I don’t know if it’s society, or just who we associate with, but we need to change our way of thinking. We are not weak. We are not broken. We are not odd.”
S.R. Crawford, From My Suffering: 25 Ways to Break the Chains of Anxiety, Depression & Stress

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Steven Kloves

“... a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge.”
George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”
George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons

“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.”
George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
