Mega Tacoma

Oh, how they have swollen. We have posted some wonderful Toyota wheelbarrows, and earlier versions  of the Tacoma were lean and clean–but they have caught the monster-truck madness. Designed to intimidate. Presents like...an ICE agent, except I guess they only come in groups.

1991 Dodge Ram 250 Cummins Turbo Diesel
We've seen this unit before. Prefer this get of Dodge to the blusters that followed in mid-90s and sort of started the beeftruck thing. We have posted a 1992 Dodge Power Ram Prospector, also from Maine. Then one of our favo(u)rite trucks is this Dodge Power Wagon 150 that lives in, all of all places, Cambridge, Mass.
Speaking of Maine in October, you can see below, if you look closely, that some of the lobster boats out at Naskeag Point now have their scallop gear on.
Naskeag Point, looking NW down Eggemoggin Reach. Thta' one of the Babson Islands.
Town recently built this float for lobstermen, who used to have launch skiffs from the beach.

Series Land Rover. Brooklin Boatyard.

AL caught the L-R at Brooklin Boatyard, where the Trumpy yacht (that's a famous boat builder--not an adjective) Mazurka had just been hauled out. Built 1955, formerly known as Annabelle). Meanwhile, out in the Reach, a mega-yacht (see below) had dropped an anchor.

1927 Ford Touring Car
From Alex Emond:"This car was sitting in a yard in Neville, Saskatchewan, just south of         Speedy Creek. The owner and a few of his friends were on hand so I asked if I could do a  sketch and take some pictures, No problem . He said that, at 6' 3"  he can barely fit in it to drive . A hundred years ago the average height for a man was more like 5'8". I sat in the shade and did a quick rendering . Beautiful fall weather . Cheers, Alex"AL:Not sure if it is a model T or not. 1927 was the last year of Model T production. The "t" we know and admire here in Brooklin Maine is a 1917 Model T and looks much spindlier and frailer than this unit. We posted on the naturalist John Burroughs' Model T, a gift from Henry himself. The there's Senator Eugene McCarthy's Model T poem.

1953 Jeep M38A1, West Texas.
From David Branch in Marfa, Texas. "Driving it daily. No top, no windscreen either. See our previous post on this one. And here are David's photos of a 1966 Kaiser Willys Jeep. And then there's the 1953 Jeep M38A1

1936 Ford
From Alex Emond  "This machine was sitting on a property just a mile outside Simmie, Saskatchewan. I didn't knock on any doors to talk to anyone about this truck. Just a few quick shots, trying to not wake up a dog sleeping on a nearby porch. A handsome truck that doesn't look like it has had much work done to it. I assume that it runs. Cheers, Alex".                     AL: There was that 1939 Ford pickup...3/4ton..at Bill Grant's Boatyard.

1970 Buick Skylark convertible
This is a summer car on the Blue Hill peninsula, in Maine. We mostly see it on its way to the golf club. We caught a wintry 1966 Buick Skylark in Maine a while back. And a '67 Skylark posted from Colorado, with links to several others.

c.1995 Chevrolet 1500 wheelbarrow. Manchester , New Hampshire
From Reid Cunningham: "A refrigerator white Chevrolet W/T (Work Truck).  Such a vehicle would be unsellable today.  Regular cab, long bed, and a handful of useful options for a Truck that was intended to do a job, not be a status symbol. "AL: Like everything else in America, Chevy W/T's have...grown. We saw a 1964 Datsun wheelbarrow truck in Santa Barbara, Calif.

1993 Cadillac Allante. New Jersey.
From Jonathan Welsh: "Most avid car spotters can name at least a few models that were killed off just as they hit their stride. Here is one. Cadillac finally installed its powerful, sophisticated Northstar V-8 engine in the Allante for 1993, giving the previously lackluster convertible impressive performance. I took time out of an early morning bike ride to capture this mint example. Chrome wheels and one-piece door glass mark it as a '93."AL: we posted a Cadillac Allante from Denver a while back. And lots of other Cadillacs, including this 1949 coupe in Maine. And the Allante's predecessor, a 1990 Coupe de Ville. Then a 1964 Cadillac convertible in Cambridge, Mass. And 1965 convertible, also Cambridge. Here's Chip Lord of Ant Farm, and a Cadillac Ranch reject. And a 1955 Cadillac Series 62 sedan.
