LIFE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES (PART-6)

Manpreet said her that neither he is ready for this marriage nor his family, but his family will accept them. They will not have any problem but she had to live in the situations, he and his family were living.  He told her that he would not be able to provide her luxury life and in simple words, nothing more than food.

Radhika was self-assured and self-confident girl. She knew that she has to live in those conditions which she could not even imagine in her wildest dreams. She had to struggle a lot. But, she was confident enough that if they both would work together. Everything would be fine one day and they would live luxurious life then. She believed that there are always two sides of coin. If there are bad days, there will be good days too. Then another thought came across her mind was ‘when will good days come?’ She was answer-less and self-answered it as ‘May be someday’.

They decided that they will meet that night at Ludhiana station and will move to Patiala. Then they will go to some advocate and will do court marriage. Everything was planned, according to them.

She was ready to take all such risks with her life. Actually she had already written this life for Manpreet. She knew well that she was going to left her parents, her family, everything but she found Manpreet above them. She went home then.

Manpreet was in Ludhiana, waiting for her, for making their plan successful. Even he too did not know whether they were doing right or wrong. He was just floating with the flow of moment.

Radhika reached her home. She was happy as well as sad. She saw her mother doing kitchen work. She saw love in her eyes for her. She again thought about her decision. Now, she lacked confidence, it seemed to her like she was going to take erroneous decision.

But the next moment, she thought about Manpreet. It seemed to her like she was about to take the most valuable and perfect decision of her life.

Her mind was with her mother… her heart was taking side of Manpreet. So there was cold fight between heart and mind… And like always- heart won.

At home, she behaved normal to everyone. Slowly and slowly it was getting dark all around. It was the darkness of the night but she was lightened from inside. But some kind of fear was making place in her mind. She wished ‘good-night’ to her parents and went to sleep but they did not have idea even how bad that night was about to go for them. Sleep was nowhere in her eyes. She called Manpreet and spoke to him. He was waiting for her at station. Then, after about one hour, she went to her parent’s room and checked whether they slept or not. Luckily for her and unluckily for them, they were sleeping. Then she came to her room and started packing her clothes, without making any noise.

And then when it was 12:00 a.m. she was ready to go away from her parents forever. Now she had packed her bag and was ready to leave them alone forever.

When she put a feet outside her room, she thought to see her parents once again may be for the last time. She went to their room, both were sleeping. She touched their feet. Then, she went to main gate and opened it without creating any noise. Then she again came to her room, took out a pen and page and wrote a letter in the last moments for her parents.

Dear Mom Dad,

I know that you both love me a lot and you did everything for me. You both took special care of me from childhood and never let me feel alone and never devoid me of anything. You provided me each and everything I ever wished. You both did for me more than any parent do for their children.

But, you know; as children become big, attain maturity. There are lots of things, which happen in their lives. Something like this happened in my life too. When I was studying at Panjab University I fell in love with a guy. We both love each other very much. I can’t live without him for a while, even.

See, there was always a gap between our thinking whether it was an age gap or communication gap. I don’t know what it was but there was a gap. Due to which I could not share anything with you. Even if I had told you, you hadn’t accepted him as he is from other caste. So, keeping all these things in mind, I am going far away… from you, from this house.

I request you not to try to find me ever. I am leaving you by my wish. You can wish that we both live happy forever. We did court marriage too.

I am sorry… I love you !!

RADHIKA
