I recall that William Gibson (Atlanta WorldCon, 1981) defined cyberpunk as "Science Fiction for those who have all the music of Lou Reed". His "Neuromancer" used the cut up method of William Burroughs and was hailed as a stylistic advance to SF.

Thanks, homie. I'm working on a cyberpunk thing and I need to keep my subconscious weighed down with robot arms and drug implants and shit. I read most of the first 20 books you got listed here and enjoyed all of them except The Naked Lunch, so I'll probably work my way down until I'm finished writing the thing or I physically can't handle anymore grimy neon nihilism.
Removed The Meat Market for not being on the original list and trying to shamelessly game the listopia system.Ditto Wake the Wicked. Voting your own book onto dozens of lists is tacky as hell, authors.

No one likes a spammy author. (PS -- we can all see who voted for what, you're not fooling anyone. Voting for each other's books instead of your own doesn't make it any less obvious.)
