Goodreads asked D.G. Allen:

How do you get inspired to write?

D.G. Allen Injustice. There are so many people whose voices are never heard because of their status, whether it be race, creed, color, or situation and I believe in my heart that EVERYONE NEEDS A CHAMPION. The absolute greatest contribution a writer can make - is to be someone's champion. The pen is truly mightier than the sword and the ability to tell someone's story, like Katherine Stockett who wrote about "The Help" or Christy Brown's "My Left Foot" is what inspires me the most.
