Goodreads asked D.G. Allen:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

D.G. Allen You've heard of "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" Well, I have a dog that friended a ghost! True Story - add expletives here!!!! We were moving out of an old farm house into the city, and I knew I had two trips left, so I decided to leave my beautiful Golden Retriever at the farm house for a couple of hours until I drove into the city, dumped the furniture then returned to close up and make sure I had everything. Well, I returned to the farm house around midnight, and it was pitch black outside. However, I left the living room light on for the dog, so I could see inside the house as I walked up to the porch. I stopped cold in my tracks when out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a tennis ball sailing through the air inside the house. A moment later I spotted my dog running after the ball and returning it out of my view. To the say the least I was bewildered - to say the most I was scared to death. Slowly, I walked up the porch wide eyed and terrified as I spotted my dog running back and forth after this tennis ball that seemed to come out of no where. Remember, I wasn't thinking ghost at this point, I was thinking intruder playing with my dog. So, I braced myself and quickly pulled open the screen door, turned the knob on the front door and kicked it open with my foot. I stood ready to pounce on the first person saw, only to be greeted by a tail wagging dog with a tennis ball firmly lodged in her mouth. WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY! Months later, I returned to the area on some business and stopped to talk to some neighbors, I told them what happened, and they didn't even crack a smile. Instead, they looked at me and said it sounded like old Mrs. Jacobs, a 100 year old woman who died in that house years and years ago. They went on to say that she absolutely loved dogs and never left that house! I'd like to know more about Mrs. Jacobs..
