I have a unique solution. I call a close friend who reads all my work so she is familiar with the characters and the story-line. She grabs a pen and paper while I pace the floor and talk out various scenarios and she scribbles down what I'm saying. She'll ask questions, or offer suggestions, until I feel like I'm on the right path again. She types out the notes and sends them to me as a reference so I don't forget the details.
