I get inspiration from all over the place. Conversations I overhear, news stories I read, talking to friends, things that have happened to me or people I know. The idea for my book The Contract, came about because an old work colleague - an economist - joked that I should make one of my heroes an economist like him. I twisted it around to make the heroine an economist, and the story evolved just from that.
