Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

David Schoorens My only book, in truth. At least, for now. I'd say, the story came from more than one place. I've always wanted to see if I could write something worthy. Now I have written a story. I'll leave it to the readers to decide if it was worthy.
Then there were our collective experiences in the last half decade. Between our politics and the pandemic, it has been a difficult time for our country. Somewhere in all that was seed for the novel.
It's a story that we do not want to become our history; a possible history that projects our current politics into the near future. I hope it will stay just what it is - fiction.
