What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Brian Wilson Hey, we all have a story or two to tell, but writers do need to first have an ability in writing. How well you did on writing school and university assignments may be a good indication. Secondly, while I am a short story writer doesn't mean that I will have the skills to be a novelist and visa versa. There are different skill-sets in each genre.
I guess the best approach is to give it a go then ask others what they think before you look to publishing.
