How do you deal with writer’s block?

Brian Wilson Excellent question. My experience is that you need to differentiate between styles of writing. When I completed my Masters thesis it was all about meeting a deadline. It was a case of just long hours of writing and preparing graphs and charts. In short story writing it is different as this is creative and you need to first have a good story and second to be in the mood. I find that it is harder when I stop writing for a period to get back into the mood. I have just completed my third book and this has taken much longer than planned.
