Goodreads asked Judy Phillips:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Judy Phillips Write, write and write some more. Write without the "ghost" of that teacher or friend or acquaintance who may have squelched your creative longings to write with their unwelcomed critique. Do not let the fear of what someone else might think of your writing keep you from writing. (Unless you are working with a publisher, of course, who has every right to question every single word in a manuscript!)
Write for you and your enjoyment. Find an audience: Have grandchildren? Write for them. Have a doting mother or grandparent? Write for them. Teach school? Write for you students.
If you have the desire to write, nothing should stop you!
