Hi Rachael, I saw that you published through defiancepress, one of the few fantasy authors they show in their site. I also have a fantasy manuscript that deals a lot in the subject of freedom, and I wonder how did you feel about working with them? What do they offer different then self publishing? Are there any part of your agreement not under NDA that you're feeling comfortable in sharing? What editing do they do?

Rachael Waechter Hi Adir! I really enjoyed working with Defiance Press. They're expanding their work into the fiction sphere and I was one of the early authors in that effort. Their staff members are so supportive and their editors do a great job. They did all my copyediting and we had a lot of back and forth in finalizing my manuscript. They also did all the design work for the book. Both traditional publishing deals and partner publishing deals allow you to work with the editors and designers. I would definitely recommend sending the manuscript their way!
