The story told in this book spans from 1913 to 1915. At the end, we see that Vrej is one of the survivors of the village of Salor. It would take a sequel to tell about what he did and where he went after that. Derya was a brief example of a woman, who, although not Christian, was living her own life of persecution at the hands of her ignorant husband.

Could you give a description of what a typical Armenian house in Salor would look like? I have been researching Armenian culture since I've been reading the book and I can't seem to get a definitive idea of what a mountain village home would would consist of. Thanks! I'm loving the book!
