“سنفترق؟.. نعم سنفترق فهذا الدرب لابد أن يقود إلى مفترق.. سيمضي كل منا فى اتجاه، وسنصير فرادى كل واحد منا يمضي إلى حال سبيله.. أليست تلك هي الحياة؟.. كل منا يسير نحو وحدته.. نحو ذاته التى ينتهي إليها.. سمنضي مبتعدين حيثما تتشعب الطرقات.. سنتقاتل على كل شيء ولاشيء.. سنتقاتل على كل معنى حتى تصبح كل المعاني خاويةً من كل ما كانت تحمله.. سنفترق هنا ولن نلتقِ سوى فى الذكريات ونواصي المقاهي صدفةً.. ستظل وجوهنا حاملةً نفس الملامح ولكن ستغيب كل الأشياء التى عرفناها عن بعضنا البعض وسنظل مجرد ملامح لأشياء كثيرةٍ ضائعة.. سنفترق بلا عودة.. وحتى لو التقينا في أي زمان أو مكان سنكون غرباء.. غرباء حتى عن انفسنا.. كلنا صار يخاف الآخر.. نخاف تلك الغربة التى خلقناها من باطن هواجسنا.. نخاف طعنات القدر المتمثلة فيَّ وفيك.. نعم كان حلمنا واحد.. انبثق من أرض واحدة وشارع واحد .. نفس الرصيف ونفس القدر المُرّ ولكننا انقسمنا عند مفترق الطرق.. كل منا حمل أحلامه وحده ومضى بها في طريقه.. وفي طريقه صار يلعن الآخر على الملأ.. صارت الطرقات كخناجر تقطعنا وتمزقنا.. كل منا صار وحدياً في وجه العاصفة.”
