Book cover for The Nowhere Witch (Tales of Xest, #2)
Hopefully my offering would be enough to keep Bautere from killing me before I had a chance to talk to it.
Rhy Moore
Wow. She is a complete fucking idiot, isn't she. This author's characters are all a bit like this, but this particular character is... I hate her. Isn't there an easier fucking option? A fucking library? Oscar? Jesus, she doesn't even bother to try to find out what a Bauterre is, even knowing how utterly ignorant she is and that she's made half the world her enemy.

Jacqueline Carey
“I lie awake in my bed, clinging to the brightness I have known, fighting back the tide of darkness, the memories of blood and branding and horror, and the legacy of cruelty that runs in my own veins, shaping my own secret vow and wielding it like a brand against the darkness, whispering it to myself, over and over.

I will try to be good.”
Jacqueline Carey, Kushiel's Scion

“Still, one of the great truths of life is that any situation can be improved with coffee.”
Lilah Pace, Asking for It

Robin McKinley
“There were some things that took life and broke it, not merely into meaninglessness, but with active malice flung the pieces farther, into hell.”
Robin McKinley, Deerskin

“We don't get all better; we don't fix everything that's broken. We just learn how to work around the broken bits. How to do the best we can with what we have, and who we are.”
Lilah Pace, Begging for It

“If you win, you live. If you lose, you die. If you don’t fight, you can’t win!”
Eren Yaeger
