“That doesn’t sound consistent with the dismissive word used when we argue that we “just watch something for entertainment”. Typically, people use the phrase as a shorthand for “me not think when me watch stuff”. In other words, we’re actually arguing that we want to engage media and narrative without entertaining it in our minds. The argument is rendered backward, foolish by our own word usage, showing we honestly have no idea what we’re saying. True entertainment means exactly the opposite.”
