“সবাই স্বপ্ন দেখে কি না জানি না, তবে অনেকে দেখে। আমিও দেখি। আমার ধারণা সবাই স্বপ্ন দেখতে শেখেনি।

স্বপ্ন মানে–খুব যে একটা বিরাট কিছু তা নয়। অল্প একটু জমি, এই কাঠা দশেক হলেই চলে–তাতে একটি ছোট বাংলো প্যাটার্নের একতলা বাড়ি। ইটালিয়ান ধাঁচের পোর্টিকোওয়ালা। ঘর থাকবে মোটে তিনটি–চারপাশে কাঁচ থাকবে শুধু কাঁচ। প্রচুর জায়গা নিয়ে একটি স্টাডি। চতুর্দিকে বই। বই—বই–রাশীকৃত বই। এক কোনায় ছোট একটা কর্নার টেবল–তাতে একটি সাদা টেবল-ল্যাম্প থাকবে। সেখানে বসে আমি লিখব। ফার্নিচার বেশি থাকবে না। পাতলা একরঙা পার্শিয়ান কার্পেট থাকবে মেঝেতে। একেবারে সাদা ধবধবে টাইলের মেঝে হবে। প্রতি ঘরে ঘরে রোজ ফুল বদলানো হবে। চারিদিকে চওড়া ঘোরানো বারান্দা থাকবে। থোকা থোকা বুগেনভেলিয়া লতায় চারদিক ভরা থাকবে। গেটের দু’পাশে দুটি গাছ থাকবে–কৃষ্ণচূড়া নয়, রাধাচূড়া। কৃষ্ণচূড়া বিরাট বড়–ওই ছোট্ট বাড়িতে বিরাট কিছু মানাবে না। বারান্দায় রেলিং থাকবে। সাদা। রট আয়রনের। বাথরুমটা বেশ বড় হবে, যাতে নয়না গান গেয়ে গেয়ে ঘুরে ঘুরে শাওয়ারের নীচে চান করতে পারে।
