One weird thing about this book has been some descriptions of Harry’s appearance: Draco’s POV has a line about Harry’s curls, and Snape recently mentioned something about copper undertones in Harry’s hair. Are we supposed to picture Connor as canon Harry and TSA Harry as sometime else? I’ve been picturing Harry regular Harry and Connor as an OC with reddish brown hair.

How am I supposed to clock back in and proofread advertisements when Snape is taking over Hogwarts :/

I always forget how much I end up liking Connor.

It was bad enough when teachers would kneel to get on Harry’s level when he was eleven, but that they’re doing it when he’s sixteen is entirely ridiculous. He’s probably taller than most women in his life at this point.

That fight with Falco was a little anticlimactic, unfortunately, and I felt the same way about Harry’s battle with the stone earlier.

Was this thestral situation transplanted from WTStSaS? None of it aligns with all the character growth Harry has had this book.

(Also, I can't believe he had to cut the fuck out of his arm and lose a dangerous amount of blood to free the thestral, unless every link of the chain had to be entirely coated in it. Prick a finger, run it around the circumference of the hoof, repeat thrice, the end.)

Decorating a room you’re going to stay in for two nights max is such a bizarre thing to do.

I guess I don’t understand, if Harry wanted some time by himself to brood so badly, he didn’t just go to the hospital wing for magical exhaustion after saving the school. Pomfrey would have kept everyone out if he’d asked, and he wouldn’t have had people staring at him in class all day.

The mildest complaint, but I wish Harry had specified Māori magic rather than just calling it New Zealand magic.

I cannot stand all the jealousy Draco exhibits in this series; dude just growled because Harry’s own brother hugged him. Maybe that kind of thing was more acceptable 20 years ago, but in 2025 it’s pretty gross.

Connor’s calm “Yeah, that’s on me” in the middle of getting kidnapped is so relatable. Whenever I find myself in a dangerous situation, that’s how I find myself reacting.

It occurs to me that no one in this series has ever been shown reading a fiction book. It’s impacting the believability of the world, unfortunately—even at college people don’t exclusively read nonfiction.

“He hugged Ginny and Ron” Even with Harry’s training being pretty much gone, I cannot believe this: Ron Weasley would never ever hug another man.

Driving me crazy that this series keeps presenting the younger of twins as immature and functionally as younger brothers.

I really do not like Harry punishing Draco as a partner. Phrasing it as “I don’t want to be around you for a couple days because this hurt me” is one thing, but explicit punishment is another. I can’t imagine feeling like I have that kind of authority over another adult.

One thing that drives me crazy about this series is how everyone is always grabbing each other’s face to force eye contact or whatever. I’d flip if someone try to do that to me.

It is so nice to get chill chapters after the rebellion. No action, no life-or-death stakes, just everyone back at Hogwarts and going to a monitoring board meeting.

Bro, what? How on earth could you even have that thought this far into the series.

50% of the book and it only lasted the first week of July through Halloween. Means we’ll be getting less detail for November through June, which is a relief, IMO; it’s little much to get exhaustive accounts of pretty much every day.

He’s in an alley with a group of light wizards, including the minister of magic, and they’re not working together to make shield charms? Everyone knows light magic is cooperative, plus it’d be great optics if, in the very meeting where Harry agreed to be monitored by Light wizards, the Light wizards aided Harry to defeat a Dark creature.

I don’t think this scene needs a dragon attack. In other news, this is about as far as I remember in the series, Harry and Scrimgeour ending the rebellion. Besides that all I can recall is Connor’s Animagus is a boar, Harry meets with a Chinese Light Lady, Harry defeats Falco (but IDK how), and the very end of the series. I’m sure more will come back as I read, but this is all I actively recall. Should be fun.

Six books in, and this is the first time the author is claiming Harry has curly hair.

I know it looks ridiculous to be updating each percentage I accomplish, but for the record, this ebook is the equivalent of 2000+ pages, so 1% of this is worth 10% of Fight Club or whatever.

Harry just said Draco thinks Draco is genetically superior to someone like Hermione, and while Harry doesn’t agree with that, he can live with it, and Draco thinking that is no less disgusting than Connor trying to hurt Draco about having a muggle ancestor after all. I just cannot fathom how the author could write that sentence and expect us to think Harry is being reasonable here.

I don’t remember what happens, but I sure am hoping Lucius gets expelled from the alliance for whatever it is he’s up to.

I just don’t agree Connor is in the wrong here. With the prank, sure, but not this recent argument. Draco walked into his room and insulted him, and Connor went for the throat, but the insults were mainly based on Draco thinking purebloods are superior. Draco started it, Connor ended it in a way that wouldn’t be insulting if Draco weren’t racist. Why are we supposed to be think Draco is the harmed party here?
